Poached eggs 🥚 on toast 🍞

Anyone else a fan of this nice healthy dish .
Has to be brown bread for me.
Eggs have to be runny (obviously)
Generously buttered 🧈 toast.
Generous season of salt and black pepper.

Tip . ( Never drop the eggs in boiling hot water that's bubbling ,just smashes the eggs up no need, also no need to swirl the water or add vinegar ,them are just myths they achieve nothing)

Just simply boil the water , turn the heat off, let it rest , crack the eggs in a small bowl, drop them in the water after its stopped bubbling. And wait approximately 3 to 4 mins.

Sorted . Enjoy.

How do you do yours ? Similar of different? That's the only way to do it of course .^^

Make my Mrs two every morning.
Brown toast.
Get the watter just below simmer, swirl it round, and crack the eggs in.
4 mins. Bang on.
Swirling water wraps the white around the yolk marra. No need for vinegar though.

I have one most mornings but rub a clove of garlic on to the toast, always rough brown seeded bread, scatter a few slices of tomato on top, drizzle olive oil over and crown it with a poached egg and salt and pepper.
Delia reckons to boil water in a pan, switch off the heat and then crack the egg into it.
Food of the Gods.

Nah I find you need vinegar like
Why I have done it in the past and it changed nothing . What is it meant to achieve ?

If I'm going to put an egg on top of toast there's going to be cheesy hammy in between them ;)

Fair enough. Annoys me when people put vinegar in the water , wtf. Why . I don't want eggs that taste like vinegar.
My Mrs has to explain that everytime we are in a hotel. Chefs get really sniffy about it.
Some of them ignore it and put vinegar in the watter anyway. They only do it once, cos they are sent straight back🤣🤣🤣

No just simmering. I even tried those cup things people do them in which worked ok but deffo works best with a splash of vinegar
Any bubbles break up the white marra. Once its simmering, turn it down to just stop the bubbles. Nee need for vinegar then mate.
If you like the taste of vinegar though, no need to change. Job's a good un.👍

Nowt finer than lightly poached eggs on buttered wholemeal toast with a pinch of salt 'n pepper. I've a couple of egg coddlers which get used when I fancy a change. Finely grated cheese and ham then crack an egg in and stand in boiling water till done. Comes out as a savoury poached egg.
