Launches this December
Can buy a ps2 for less than half of that which can play ps1 and ps2 games. Some people will buy anything
crazy pricing like, i picked up a PS1 from a carboot last year with 100 games for a tenner
Pile of shite then never mind now
Seems expensive. If you can sideload a ton of games NES mini style it may increase my interest (or at least my opinion on the price). PS1 games, just like the N64 games, are ugly as fuck graphically these days.
Sony announces PlayStation Classic, a $100 mini PS1
It's all very well but some games on that system aged terribly
ps2 would be better
Seb I take it
Aye, about half way down the page marra.
Agree about it aging terribly btw.
Just seen this thread
My problem with it is the fact that the games from the console have on the whole aged badly, I know its hardly retro but going for a PS2 classic would have been more tempting.
Seen ti mate
A PS2 would have been a better choice because alot of those games have aged very well imo.
what's the point?
why would anyone buy one?
Ps2 has plenty of still playable games imo. Ps1 has very few. I'd play tomb raider and that's probably about it it
Aye. it's when they started to get 3d right. Not saying there aren't great games on the PS1. I've replayed all of the final fantasy game on it multiple times. Platinum trophied FF7 on the PS4 most recently.
Tomb raider 1 has awful controls. We put up with it at the time because we didn't know any better.
Ps1 had great games and had the original console , but for impact and ageing the best ps2 is one of the best consoles of any era.
It does but still find it playable.
Actually add spyro to the list but that's coming out on Xbox one anyway so what would be the point in playing it in 90's graphics
Agreed , I don't think playing any game would interest me like.
Didn't they only stop supporting the PS2 a few weeks back? That's still a "live" console really.
Al this re-making old stuff is stupid. Emulation is good enough for the amount of time you actually want to play very old games. They're usually very clunky by today's standards.
That's probably why the won't release one for a while yet, as they probably think it isn't old enough to re-release.
