John Terry
Lampard
Barry
Shaun Wright-Phillips
Johnson

Older players I would stick by for now

Ferdinand
Gerrard
Ashely Cole

While I dont want all youth I hope Cappello sticks by some of the youngsters and gives then plenty of chances.

When we get knocked out of a major championship the mood is lets give youth and chance and if we get beat for the time being lets stick by them and let them grow into it.

But I pick up my paper today to find that losing 2-1 to a good France side is some sort of national disgrace:roll:

I'd really dislike seeing Bent in an England shirt if he had to play alongside Carroll ................

which johnson are you referring to?

adam
glen
andy

They need to pick players who they can fast track into the team and stick with them. Players like Carroll, Henderson, Gibbs, Wiltshire and Rodwell should be playing in most friendlies and should be at least training with the squad for qualifiers. Without any consistency you end up with players like Ashley Young, Micah Richards, Agbonlahor and Glen Johnson who have barely got any better. Gareth Barry will never be quick enough at that level and players like Lescott seem to be judged on how much they cost rather than their ability and I don't think they deserve to play.

abysmal at present that lad. once pinched a toilet seat.

tranfer fees of around £35 million have been spent on him.

a sign of how mad football is these days

wants out of liverpool but will be on approx £100 grand a week. who will buy him?

A lot easier to post who you don't want to be in the England squad, than who you want to be in it

How many England managers have "failed"? Got nothing to do with the selections, and everything to do with the type of players which England produces.

Nothing wrong with the keepers, and defenders. It falls apart in midfield where they're all of the gerrard type. And up front have England ever been poorer?

Carroll and Henderson are not in the same calibre as the latter players.

And if england want to do anything in the modern game they need players like Barry who can pass the ball. Not his fault that the players in front of him had forgotten that you can't receive the ball if you don't move into space.

As ever, when discussing the national team, fans look at it from the perspective of their own club. In reality Capello has done Henderson no favours at all in picking him way before he was ready, and I bet Bruce has been championing him behind the scenes.

Not saying england would win the world cup but I bet they could do a lot better with a different manager he's clueless Capello.

Just a shame he seems to have forgot how to do this

Watch the French. Movement is the key. After they pass the ball, they move into space creating the opportunity to receive the ball.

Barry could not pass the ball like this because players like Walcott and Henderson hid. And the fall guy is Barry.

The only ball on for the back 4, or Barry was the hopeful punt up to carroll, or the diagonal to the wide men. And it's predictable and therefore easy to defend against. If you can't win the first header, win the 2nd ball
