Think there was a lad at Manchester City called Michael Johnson or something. Looked a good prospect but think he put on some clem and was never heard of again
Had mental health problems iirc.

Sounds like he had plenty of reasons tbf
Exactly - I didnt want it to be anything deep - Just players like Harper who made a career of not playing much - but had full careers regardless

Didn't he not have some kind of mental breakdown/illness?
I was unaware of any mental health issues. Maybe football wasn't important to himPoor bloke. Guess 'wasted a career' isn't appropriate if that's what happened.
His brother was playing for Lincoln City yesterdayRyan Noble
Surely could have at least made a decent enough career in the lower leagues had he applied himself. Instead delivers pizza, and even Northern League teams don't seem to want him.
I say he wasted 4 years or more of his careerLike Northern Ireland we're going to win the World Cup
Best won every going by the time he was finished

Agree to disagree
I believe had he been more level headed he might have gone to Real Madrid and won the same again. No look at what best won by the time he was 27
Most don't even get that if they had a good career

Good shout with VormYeah, turned to alcohol as well. It's a really sad story, hopefully he's back on the straight and narrow now.
Michel Vorm has pissed a promising career away to sit on the bench at Spurs. I know he plays the cup games now but he could be playing regular football for a top ten PL side.
Nicklas Bendtner
Never good enough to play for a top side but if he had any grasp of reality he could still have had a very decent career at Premier League level.
