Players born in Sunderland that never played for us?

Don't know if anyone seen the Echo supplement last week, but there was a school team photo from St Josephs circa 1970 with Hazard Dillon and Mick Harford all in the line-up.

Brian Marwood....... intelligent footballer and now very good and fair TV expert commentator. Was fantastic in his 'Indian Summer' at Barnet, would love to have seen him play for us at his peak.

Porter Family..... Were they from Redby? Remember playing Sunday AM Footy and a Porter brother played full back for us. Great strength ability and vision but a reputation from being from a 'hard family' so nobody would talk to him except me and found him very down to earth and a good laugh.

Philliskirk Family... Related to the teacher at Monkwearmouth who had links to Roker Boys? Ran the school team when I played, fantastic teacher who developed kids by encouragement rather than punishment.

Now at Man City, chief scout role or something. Instrumental in the Adam Johnson deal back in January.

As for Porter, a really good player for Watford back in the day.
