It was worse for Tranmere. They had won theirs but because Swindon stayed they weren't promoted. They had done nothing wrong.
Jesus I didn't know that happened!!!! Shocking! You'd have thought whoever came in the last relegation slot from the Second Division would have got a reprieve instead.

It's not true and has been explained on this thread.

Tranmere lost their play final but were promoted as Swindon were originally relegated down a further division. This was overturned on appeal so both Swindon and Tranmere stayed were they were.

Just been listening to the Into the light podcast with Michael Proctor and he said he always went in the Roker end back then but couldn't in that game cos Newcastle had the whole end?

I am pretty certain I was in the big corner that day In the Roker end and Newcastle had the big middle section. Can any confirm if that was the case?
No question about it, I was also stood in the big corner of the Roker End.

Was in the corner Roker End that day still have the ticket stub somewhere.

Couple of black and whites in there at the front also..

Ticket's for the away leg were sold from a turnstile in the clock stand.. the day before the first leg.
