Just been listening to the Into the light podcast with Michael Proctor and he said he always went in the Roker end back then but couldn't in that game cos Newcastle had the whole end?

I am pretty certain I was in the big corner that day In the Roker end and Newcastle had the big middle section. Can any confirm if that was the case?

I was in the clock stand paddock.

Can only remember Hardyman kickin' that twat Burridge in the head when he missed the penalty

OOPs - wrong forum.

I remember as a bairn being in the main stand seating and coins/bottles etc raining down on The Mags in the corner of the Roker End. I think it was the play off game but not 100% certain. It could have been the league game that year or the next Derby. The ones I went to when I was that young all roll in to one. I realise this is probably no help.

The mags did NOT Have the full Roker
Sunderland fans had the biggest corner, main stand side

Unless my memory was playing tricks I was in roker end..
Certain of it

Can anyone remember what the allocation / arrangements for the 2nd leg were ?

I wasn't there, but I was in 76, 80, 85 and countless shit games in the 90s so I can't remember why I didn't get a ticket as I was a season ticket holder. I have never seen us win at Sid James

I woke up on my living room floor at 4am clutching an empty bottle of vodka

I ended up getting a ticket because the sandwich man where I worked found out it was my birthday on the day of the game.
He somehow had a spare ticket .
Ended up on the train on my own with all the other sunderland fans.

The escorts back to station after the game was mint

We had the full Leazes, 5K I believe.

I think at the time the Roker held about 8K, sure Chelsea had that many in 1985.

Really can't remember, Rob. The ***** certainly had the middle bit. What I would say is that the atmosphere that day where I was was different to anything else. Red hot.

I was in the clock stand paddock.

Towards the Roker? Can you remember them lads with a grey mag away top, circa 1987, just at kick off?

The ticket arrangements for the away leg were just turn up and buy a ticket, we didn't sell out until very close to match day.
