Play off games v Average attendances

Your constant harping on is getting tedious.

Our attendance tomorrow will probably be around 30k. Slightly down on our season average. Fans had a week to plan for it, on a Saturday night at 7:30. The first Saturday after the season so many likely made other plans. In a month many are booking holidays.

Those who are there will support the team no doubt. I’d say your negativity is actually doing more harm than those who are just doing nothing.

Move on.

So we are the only club that has ever had to do this? Every other club barring derby has seen big increases for these games. The issues are no different for any of those sets of fans, maybe they just care more about their club.

Even though I'm disappointed about tomorrows possible attendance. It's better that our fans have stayed loyal throughout the regular season (32k average) than just turn up in bigger numbers for one match in the play-offs. Like the Leeds example.

Where did anybody say that? A club that averages 32,000 and then manages just 26,000 for the biggest game of the season is plastic support of the highest order. The year Leeds were in league 1 for the first time they average 26,000 and increased that 10,000 for the play offs.....If their support had matched ours for this game the would have had under 20,000.

Who cares about Leeds?

Is our aspiration to react the same as Leeds supporters, is this a definitive barometer of supporters "plasticness"?

Perhaps each situation should be looked upon in its own situation.

Cant blame a single fan for who went to a league game and doesn't fancy tomorrow.

No, the barometer is that we are the only club as far as I can see who have not supported their team in much bigger numbers than other games during play offs......Some of our fans are openly saying on here they just cant be arsed cause we are crap where as every other teams fans just turn out in big numbers anyway. These fuckers need to be shamed as they are embarrassing the rest of us. Will be interesting to see what the commentators take on it is.

Without wanting to sound like I'm having a go at anyone, I'm struggling to get my head around the idea that we're going to potentially have a significantly smaller crowd than we've been getting for league games.

It's one of, if not the biggest game of the season

Unbelievable stuff.

Your disdain for those who are not of your opinion is incredible, as is the manner in which you perceive your support.

And as for worrying what a commentator makes of our fans.....

Of course they can, but after us banging on about our amazing support for years on end we are showing that actually a good percentage are fair weather fans who cannot match the levels of support of their team that other clubs do in big games. Sad but true.

How is it plastic when we average 32,000 over 23 games.
Surely the definition of plastic are the aforementioned teams who put on 10,000 extra for a one off match ?

If we had plastic fans, we would have got 18-19,000 all season, and then 35,000 for this one ?

We are the opposite of plastic, whatever that is.

Disagree as much as you like, deciding to sit in a pub in the town getting pissed when we have a play off match makes those who choose to do it twats imho. Sadly the rest of us will be having to put up with shite of mags taking the piss cause our supporters are fickle fuckers.

Frig me, you think not supporting our team in the biggest game of the season is a good thing?

You're worried about the mags and commentators and have a inflated sense of self importance. If you're embarrassed by your clubs support, so be it, is just a bizarre stance.

Its the only thing going for it at the minute.

Chucking some figures about then

Attendance tomorrow 28,000 14.8% less than average league gate

Attendance tomorrow 27,000 19.1 % less than average league gate

Attendance tomorrow 26,000 23.6% below average league gate

In short our "fans" failure to support their team in the play off semi finals is unprecedented in the play offs. Virtually every clubs fans support their team in much bigger numbers during the play offs and SAFC, the "best fans in the land" will see a huge percentage drop that is unrivalled for its plasticness in play off history.

And who says we never win owt.

Best fans fault EVER
