plantar fasciitis.....

Only thing I found that worked for this was changing my trainers to Nike Air max. Every other pair of trainers I buy makes it come back. Chavvy as fuck like but they're medicinal
I have to wear industrials/safeties* for a similar reason. A few years back just about the only type I could find were modeled like trainers. Like fuck was I going to wear what looked like rip-off trainers to work.

* Moccasins were also OK so long as nobody stepped on them.

I only get this after doing sport.

Ie played 5 a side Wednesday and 6 a side last night and I'm in bits now.

But been fine last few weeks as haven't played.

Different shoes/boots for both.

Adidas venoms and footy boots.

If he has plantar fasciitis that is in the foot, yes it can travel further up but it stems from the foot
I know plantar is in the foot man...

One of the more common causes of plantar fasciitis is tight calf muscles. If there is not enough motion in the ankle joint due to a lack of flexibility then there will be extra strain on the fascia which may lead to this injury. Foottype and how the foot functions can also play a significant role in this injury.

Tennis ball will still sort it, its magic

Orthotics useless for me but rollers helped. Rolling pin, bean tins, then cut a bit pipe at work & covered it with foam. The foam rollers were ok for other stuff but too femmer for pf or heel spur/pain.

Niw had it for years, it does come and go in the intensity of it... but never disappears completely... I do not run so much now as I prefer to walk the golf course rather than take a buggy
A say 10k one day will mean difficulty walking the next
Unfortunately I just manage it now, yes stretching and calf work help, rowing machine good, some cardio, without affecting the PF and does the stretching as well

I’ve been struggling since March with Achilles and PF trouble. Went to see a specialist in the Musculoskeletal dept at the hospital and he spotted that my left calf muscle was about half the size of my right one. Probably because of an old ankle injury causing me to adapt my running style.
Upshot is for the last few years I’ve been using that calf muscle less and so putting too much load on the Achilles and heel. Doing calf strength work for the last @2 months and it’s making a big difference . Still getting quite a lot of pain but I’m able to ‘run’ again .....but the whole point of my post was to say it is most definitely linked to calf issues (in my case at least)

I've stopped wearing a pair of (admittedly, class) Adidas Sambas and my Plantar Fasciitis has gone away seemingly. They've got a sort of small foot arch support in the middle of the sole. I'll not be buying any more.

Regarding exercises I would strongly advise for using the golf ball rolling method for improving bllod flow in the area. But I also want to mention the following.

I have had all sorts of long term calf/foot/achilles problems for years. Originally caused by a tear to the plantar fascia ligament.
For years I was going to running shops and doing the assessments and ending up buying a pair of trainers that put my foot in the "correct" position for my running style. These started costing me £60 and then more recently I was spending £120 with no real improvement in my ailments.

More recently I purchased a £40 pair of adidas lite racers for general pottering about. These are very soft and light fabric trainers that put my foot in a neutral position. Despite all the advice about needing specific trainers due to my running gait I decided to go for some runs in the £40 neutral trainers. What do you know? Hardly any injury issues.
I am now of the opinion the whole facade of assessments and alike are just to sell expensive trainers that do you no good.
I would suggest to anybody with long term foot/achilles issues to buy a soft neutral trainer and wear it in for several weeks walking around, then head out for a jog, you might be surprised what happens when you have a trainer that fits around your feet rather than feet that are held into position by your trainer.

Put a beer can in freezer ..when it's solid put in floor and roll your foot palm over it.. If its too cold put a tea towel over it first... Also sit in a chair and use your toes to pick up a pencil.. This loosens the band that causes this.. Good luck

Having a lovely time with this. Its been hovering around the last few month but seems to have really become a lot more painful the last few days. I know everybody is different but on average how long did everybody's take to clear up? Ordered some compression socks and gonna make a physio appointment too.

Get a spikey massage ball. Sorted mine in a week or so. Mine was horrific. I had a bit of physio but the ball was a miracle.

Solid tennis ball for me worked class

Couple of weeks and it was sorted

I also walk around the house with Adidas sliders on instead of just socks or barefoot, they are the perfect shape to support your foot

Can't remember last time I had pain
