Rather tasty imo. Now I absolutely despise bananas and can't think of owt worse than a juiceless fruit, but slice up these fellas and fry them in a pan and they're lusheroony.

Serve piping hot with a sprinkling of sea salt and a scotch bonnet-based hot sauce.

Lovely fried in butter. My Bajan Mother-in-Law introduced me to them years ago. Can't buy the fuckers in Sunderland.

They had them in a shop next to where I used to live but the big sign above them that read 'ATTENTION WHITE PEOPLE: THESE ARE NOT BANANAS!' was a little off putting.

Sure you can. Isn't there an african/Caribbean shop up Hylton Road and a place opposite Hot Rats

Looks like a banana, peels like a banana, consistency of a banana when raw, smells like a banana, but you eat it like it's a potato.

Potato flavoured bananas is one step closer to crisp flavoured fruits as discussed on here last week.

Oh very good. I'm not a 'foodie' mind.

If you could get grapes that tasted of salt and vinegar Kettle Chips I'd give them a go.

I'm sure there are places, but in London you can buy them in almost every shop, supermarket and market stall. Up here they're like gold dust.

We tried some of them candy floss grapes last year. A bit weird to the point of being wrong.

Never tried it, but I would imagine it'd be nice on a pizza - either alongsdie or in the place of the pineapple on a Hawaiian pizza

Mind they cost £19 each down there, plus a £5 if you want a placcy bag to carry it home in.
