Places in the north east you'd never heard of

There must be thousands of places in the North East that I have never heard of . However owing to that simple fact I am unable to name any of them.
I find myself in a similar quandary and therefore am unable to contribute.

Knew a bloke from there many years back through amateur radio. I remember when I queried where it was he advised "near Glanton". Not too far from Beal iirc. I love driving around the northeast and know most of the places mentioned. When I get through to the end of the thread I should be able to add more ;)
 
Place called "Royal Oak" signposted a fair bit around piercebridge/staindrop area. Does the place actually exist?

Aye, it's on the A68 between Blue House Farm and Toy Top Farm. Mind you, I think it's only one house.

Toy Top Farm: who the hell came up with that one anyway?

Ha have you been to millfield as well. Used to lead out of tghere all the time, many years ago.

yes,not much there. near legs across bank believe it or not.
