Pissing it

This is the sort of thread we would laugh at if it was on another teams forum, arrogant bastards, eh.
I am certain the Ross will have them focused on justvthe next game and will know we are not "pissing" this league, we are working hard to get promoted.

Absolutely chuffed to bits with how well things have gone so far, and I think we are in with a very good chance of promotion.
But, I’ve supported Sunderland far too long to take anything for granted.
This is more like it!

I didn't read it, it was too many words in a huge paragraph, could you just precis it for me please?

:evil::evil::evil:

I am hoping we get rid, I don't think they are being paid at the moment, but there is no doubt if we don't sell them they will try and do a Rodwell. We hopefully are ready and able to sack the fuckers for breach of contract
My comment about them was extremely tongue in cheek, Wayne;)

Had a small wager with a mag mate that we’d get promoted (be it auto or playoffs) and he has to pay out early if we’re top by Crimbo. Ha’way the lads!!

Another thread typical of the small element of our fans with arrogant mag tendencies. I hope we go up, think we have a great chance but talk of pissing it and winning every game is crackers. This is a club that has had more than it’s fair share of heartache, has won less games out football than every other of the 92. Why not just enjoy each game without getting ahead of ourselves? There are lots of variables that could happen despite our fantastic start.

This, people are terrified to big us up in case it goes wrong. Its almost like they believe if they say/type it, it wont happen. I think we will piss it also. I also realise a couple of injuries and we may well be fucked.

My glass runeth over at the minute. We didn't look very good today and won. Who the fuck told me that Wimbledon were a passing team before the game yesterday?

We get battered (but not beaten) by sides with big lads up front

Probably an injury/suspension away from a defeat

Or pace, like the Charlton boy.

Lets be honest there is not a single doubt we are going up

Tremendous

The only concern I have is the defensive fragility we’ve shown against Gillingham and a little yesterday.

Eventually a team will tale those chances.

But we are the strongest attacking team in the league especially when our injured players come back.

I d be very surprised if we don’t go up. Unbeaten with a side that has played a hand full of games together. Rarely having to get out of 2nd gear. Bit of strength in depth.

Yes, we’re doing well. Yes, coming to win from behind is encouraging, yes, let’s get excited but pissing it????

1 team currently has more points than us and 2 others have exactly the same record. 4 are unbeaten. 2 of our 4 wins have been won by a single goal.

We’re hardly pissing it.

Not wanting to piss on you but we hardly pissed the first half yesterday like rabbits in the headlights

Very true Hank, and the same can be said of the Gillingham game, they had several periods of the game where they had us ' backs against the wall '. As well as that ( as a few on here pointed out ) if Eaves had been given decent service he would have knocked at least three past us.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves, we re deein alright let's just push on.

I hope the players aren’t as complacent as you.

Anyone who has played a sport competitively will have fallen victim to have already thinking you’ve won half way through because you know you’re better than your opponent, only to lose and wonder how the fuck did that happen?

Spot on. As fans we shouldn't get into the mindset of thinking each game is won before it starts or it'll bite us on the arse. We need to keep our attention on geeing up the lads for good performances every game, not go into each game expecting to be entertained. That's the slippery slope.

Thankfully, looking at the interview with Honeyman from yesterday, the players are properly focussed and determined. It'd be disastrous to our season if the players went into each match thinking it was already won before it started.

That is just one paragraph.... Seriously folks.... Shall..... I..... Start..... Breaking.... Things.... Down... Into..... Single...... Words..........

I know it's a Saturday night and no doubt the beer of victory has been flowing for many, but surely people have the attention span to get through reading a single paragraph...

Smaller paragraphs just make it easier to read without having to squint.

Maybe at least try cutting some of your sentences up into smaller chunks?

This one for example...

"We may end up walking the league and I really hope we do, just like any supporter does, it'll have been a great entertaining season for us, but we aren't there yet by a long long way and just judging by todays match thread, there's a hell of a lot on here who are still suffering the hangover from previous seasons, doubting the team and nervous when things don't go instantly our way and rightly so, we've been through some really crap times in recent years and every time we have thought we have turned that corner, things go to crap."

One sentence? Really? I would make that four. :D

Confidence/belief/positivity?

Overconfidence/arrogance/complacency.

Like it or not, for at least the next 9 months we're a league 1 team. We're here on merit for having a shite few seasons. Right now, this is where we belong.

In my opinion we should enjoy the ride trying to get back up to the Championship and not act like Billy Big Bollockses while we're here.

Just because we're winning doesn't mean we should rub the other League 1 teams' faces in it. If we act like arseholes along the way we might just piss off a few opposition players enough for them to start throwing in career-ending tackles on our players.

Can't we be confident that we look good, enjoy our time in this division, but be humble about it too?

Nowt worse than a sore winner, IMO.
