After being a bit gutted knowing that we'll field a weakened side against them...I'm now actually quite looking forward to seeing a few of them being given a chance, some enthusiasm and no fear might actually make us entertaining to watch. The first team would get caned anyway. He's definitely playing against Arsenal by all accounts

Neither of them are great. Outstanding save by Mannone onto the post last night though.
Peddle pants
As good a save as you will see all season. Finger tipped onto post. Most keepers are excellent shot stoppers.... its the other areas that seperate the top class from the averageNeither of them are great. Outstanding save by Mannone onto the post last night though.
Again, had experience and his stupidly highly rated at the club. Wouldn't surprise me that he will go straight in and get a chance, maybe Arsenal cup game as he is not allowed to play against villa. One of Mannone or Pants will go. Pickford will have to take his chance.
Preston fans are wounded that he has been recalled.
No issue with this at all. Frees a squad place up turfing a senior keeper.Think he'll be in as first-choice now. Allardyce clearly doesn't rate Pantilimon and going off his comments after the Boxing Day game, he's not sold on Mannone either.

Last night was the first match in ages I can remember watching Mannone & not thinking "well that was shit" after he conceded a goal. He's been poor since May '13.Looks the likely scenario although I'd definitely have Mannone as first choice initially. He had a fine game last night and was a decent keeper for us in his first season.

Good luck Jordan, you're going to get enough shot stopping practice over these next few months.![]()

number 1 in now just another 20 + keen ambitious fit bodies with an ounce of desire to succeedHopefully pickford will be decent. Not sold on pants or Vito. We've not had a top rate keeper since Flash.

straight in for me[/QUOTE
Maybe, more likely to be bedded for next season, play him at Arsenal in the cup game.
