Pickford fee

Wording in today's metro newspaper "The Sunderland goalkeeper did show why he is eyed by England's top clubs, with a series of quality saves". Stick that in your pipe and smoke it, sad mag wankers on an SAFC forum.
He was immense last night like .

The mags are like tramps on chips here.

Another one to get them frothing at the trampagne bottle.

A URL with "transfer news" and 5 clubs' names in it. Not cash for clicks at all is it?
Any quotes from the clubs or just the website of the worst daily paper trying to generate advertising revenue?
Obviously people share it round and it generates more traffic.
You need to be more cynical in your approach. Transfer rumours subsidise papers, thats why every club gets linked with about 200 players ever window.

And look, there's a gallery with 10 slides, and 10 seperate URLs. That counts as 11 visits to the website. Think of all the glorious advertising revenue they are getting.

'Fuming, etc...'

Wenger himself said that.

But our resident mags remain unconvinced
I'm quite critical of all of our players , but he was absolutely flawless , he's improved a lot even over 30+ games . Good on him , he'll be forced out the club though due to finance . Shame because he's a genuine fan .

Nobody is saying he's a bad keeper.
We can all see he has tons of ability.
It's not even up for debate.

The talking point is the "minimum £30 million" that people have whipped themselves up into a frenzy to believe to be the automatic starting price.
20 million would be good imho

More realistic, but I'd be surprised if it was even as high as that.
For £20m you could sign just about any goalkeeper in the world. Maybe only Courtois, deGea or Neuer would go for more than that.

Any club being held to ransom would just go elsewhere.
Pickford is a good keeper, but there's plenty other keepers at half the price who would be as good.
Sunderland are financially insecure and will probably need to sell to finance the rebuilding, so they may have to take what they can to commence business early.

Several big teams are going to want him, I think we should do everything we can to keep him but if we are to sell then there should be NO LIMIT to what price we should try to achieve.

Forget past record fees, these super rich clubs will pay whatever it takes if they really want him.

I'm not going to mention actual figures because they sound ridiculous but if we sell him for what is perceived as "the going rate" i.e. £15m to £20m then we deserve to end up in financial strife.

For a financially insecure team that has just been relegated with one player who is worth double figures, it's definitely a buyer's market. The going rate might be the most you can hope for.

No you couldn't

You are so so wrong

The market has changed so much you are quoting deals that were made years ago

Anyone who thinks Pickford should be sold for 20 mill needs their head f***ing testing

No it definitely isn't

His value will only go up

Superb last night. Wouldn't accept a penny less than £20m for him.

No way on earth we should sell for 20 million

Would be horrendous business and the final straw for me
