Pick Your Ashes Squad

Hes a far, far better and more complete player than he was last time he was in the Test side. Its pure ignorance for anyone to try and argue otherwise.

You could probably say that about most of the openers they tried after Cook retired. It’s definitely the case with Lees, but what angers me the most is that Crawley has been consistently mediocre and has been protected for years. None of the other lads, going back to Adam Lyth, through Stoneman, Robson, Burns, Sibley, Hameed and Lees (and so on and so forth) were given half the leeway he has had.

Be much of a muchness to this Indian series.

Crawley
Duckett
Pope
Root
Brook
Smith
Stokes
Woakes
Atkinson
Archer
Wood
Bashir
Bethell
Tounge
Carse
Cox

Plus Rocky Flintoff drafted in from the Lions and another spinner (Leach?) In reserve.

Why would Flintoff get drafted in having played no domestic format longer form cricket this season

Disgusting how those clowns have made sure there is no international cricket in August for that shitty competition.

The Hundred is more important than the England team.
ECB money maker by selling it to TV round world. Absolute disgusting how a few blokes in London decide how and when cricket is played in UK

Wood/Overton

I don't think there's much point discussing our own squads, because 14 or 15 of the places are set. I've taken Overton over Woakes and Rehan for experience.

Bash plays when Stokes plays, if Ben has to miss time then Bethell and a seamer come in.

BBC pundits all had the same opening 7 then mixed the bowlers around a bit for the first test

Archer, Wood, Carse & Woakes being the likely bowlers, most didn't have a spinner

Burns can do one after the last ashes down under imo but take your point generally
