I prefer episodic stuff as my attention span and patience get gradually worse as I get older. I can't binge watch stuff, I just get antsy and lose interest. DS9 was ripped off the Babylon 5 draft idea that JMS the B5 creator sent to the Star Trek people trying to get them to make it! They said "no" to him and then made DS9 without him, which is blatantly based on the B5 idea.
I'm not sure of the significance of that but it's amazing what you don't notice watching a show.
