Anyone uses any of the below?

I'm presuming they are all as qualified as each other but a recommendation would be good (also it has to be one of these)

Ashbrooke Physiotherapy

Sam Goodacre Physiotherapy

Ascenti, Silksworth

The performance clinic, sports injury Sunderland Uni

Ashbrooke, used through my old employer for a neck/ whiplash type injury. The stretches they showed me were the most effective, dunno about the various machines they used

I had hip replacement surgery in August. Saw the Physio for 5 minutes as an outpatient where she told me to move my leg, and that was it. NHS after care for you

Never used any of them but when I ruptured my medial ligament playing football, I saw a physio called Jamie Oldroyd at Carville and he was good. Has an office at Carville and Boldon iirc. Think he may have been a physio for Sunderland at some point but not sure, cannot remember why I think that. Prices seem reasonable but I never shopped around so cannot confirm. He is pretty upfront about everything if you drop him an email.

Had a grade 2 tear of my medial ligament a couple of years ago, the NHS physio set up at Sunderland Royal were the bollocks

word of advice. if you're gonna go for a private physio, make sure you see one who specialises in your issue. treat it as an investment and stick to it, otherwise it's a massive waste of money.

I've used Ascenti in a couple of different places, and they've been very good. (Although not at Silky)

Thankfully I wasn't paying (insurance through work), but I really thought it helped.

I think if I had been paying, perhaps I would have been more diligent in doing the exercises they told me to do though ;)

Performance clinic is top draw, used many times and given they deal with pro athletes the deffo know their onions.

Looks like Performance Clinics wins

well at least that will help with pennys costs mate but get booked in advance as only works sunderland part time (also does low fell)

as its kind of back related I would still fork out £20 and make one appointment with SR Acupuncture (sunderland) steve riley, as he specialises with back injuries , just for an opinion if nothing else

Saw Sam this morning. Been going to him to see about a problem with my ankle. He uses a combination of massage and ultrasound while I'm there and then recommends specific exercises to come away with. Noticed plenty of improvement in it and I get the feeling he's not one to string out the sessions for longer than they're needed.
