We are so lucky to live in these times.
Think the gaffers in the shipyards used to wear bowlers. All 3 of them must have been employed in the yards in some capacity.

i love this photo. its in 1944, seen the barrage balloons as well. same view you get sitting by the cooper rose window.

There was an online repository by either Newcastle or Northumbria Uni a few years ago which I’m sure was called the Cine project or such like which contained loads of historical images of Sunderland.
