i love this photo. its in 1944, seen the barrage balloons as well. same view you get sitting by the cooper rose window.

Gray's in Sea Road always have an excellent selection of old prints of Sunderland. Bonus is you can select the right frame while you're there. Mind you don't get tempted by the original paintings of local scenes ........
 
Got a bare wall at home and thinking about putting up some canvas on frame prints (like a landscape scene over 2 or 3 separate photos). I was thinking of a shipyard scene or maybe a city centre scene before the nice buildings were knocked down.
Anyone any idea where I could find some that would work with such a set-up?

There was an online repository by either Newcastle or Northumbria Uni a few years ago which I’m sure was called the Cine project or such like which contained loads of historical images of Sunderland.
I’ve Googled to no avail.
