I’ve not been that impressed with sessegnon the matches I’ve seen him play , I know he’s only 17 or 18 but I remember seeing bale and even luke shaw at the SOL both for Southampton and they both really stood

He will be in the next England squad after the WC imho

I agree although I hope not. I'm a big believer of creating a pathway through the ages and that pathway should include a progression through the age groups and not just stockpiling a load of pacy, but limited players at 21 level whilst we cap the best young'uns 8 times for the 18s then promote them to seniors.

these young'uns need to develop a culture of success. They've got the World at their feet and we're sweeping up at all age levels. Let that continue. Let the 18s progress to the 20s as a team and then into the 21s as a team. Once they've swept up at 3 different age levels as a team, they'll have a culture of winning that we're seriously lacking at senior level. We don't need Phil Foden sat watching Fabian Delph from the bench at senior level with England.

I trust Southgate to get this right.

We just chose really badly, loan the right players (Rose, Wellbeck, Downing, Alonso) and they are a massive boost to the squad.
Aye we're sure to get players of their ilk coming down to League One like aren't we, the likelihood is we would end up with more of your Tyas Browning, Brendon Galloway, Jake Clarke-Salter, Lee Camp type loans.

Fully agree....he wasn’t too bad in the play off final but was well and truly kept quiet in the televised games leading up to it that I saw.

No you’re right, the 16 goals and 8 assists this season; crucial goal in the play offs; assisted the winner in the final; the Championship player of the year award; the apprentice of the year award; championship young player of the year award are all the hallmarks of a 17 year old who’s not that impressive at all.

Love this board.

In the PL when you could loan 1/2 players it’s ok loaning half the starting 11 doesn’t work imo
I agree, I wonder how much money we have spent on loanees over the years? I know some helped us keep our premium status but agents fees etc must mount up for players that will never be ours, a good scouting system would be much better.
