There’s film on YouTube of City’s pre-season’s game against Man U in America.
Only highlights I know but he looks very good, as he did in the 17’s World Cup.

If he's that good, why not take him?

Walcott went to the WC as an 18 year old and hasn't achieved a thing beforehand.

Brazilian Ronaldo didn't exactly suffer from being involved in 1994. Not sure he played a minute of that tournament either

Because he probably won't have played any league games

that'll be because he's at the uber-all stars Man City. We can't use that as a negative. I'd rather take a talented youngster than Jack Cork or Jake Livermore who would be selected on the basis that they're playing games for West Brom & Burnley.

Pretty sure Walcott didn’t get any game time like.

He didn't. The players were sick of having to explain the basics to him during training.
Was the worst thing that could've happened to him.
Svens ego selected him. If he turned into a world beater any time in the future he wanted to be known as the man who give him his start. If wenger hadn't wanted him at arsenal sven wouldn't of chosen him.

Only decent thing that came out of it was Theo's world cup diary.....

from what I saw of the highlight's he did very well. one particularly delicious defence splitting ball to Jesus..... bodes well for the lad.

Just the 65 goals for Arsenal....
In all seriousness though, expected a lot more from Walcott.

EDIT - over 100 goals for Arsenal, actually. 65 in the league

That's not too bad for a right winger, even better when you consider all the injuries he's had over the years. I still think if he hadn't been so injury prone he would've been an absolute star for club and country

Suppose it helps when man city can just hoover up all the best young players, with throwing a potential lottery win in their faces

I agree it's a major issue generally (them and Chelsea stockpiling youngsters) but in Foden's case isn't he a Manchester lad and City pretty much his most local club?
