Spain didn't go to penalties in WC. Needed pens v Italy in the Euro 08 QF and vs Portugal the Euro 2012 SF.
I didn't know this off the top of my head, i just looked it up because i didn't remember penalties in the WC.
Needing pens twice in the euros reinforces your point though, as they never conceded a single goal in knockout rounds of those three tournaments, but didn't exactly blow teams away, despite being very good.
Probably only Italy in the 2012 final and Russia in the 08 semi were decent wins, 4-0 and 3-0 respectively.

yiure right

Spain in World Cup knockouts

1-0 Paraguay. 1-0 Portugal, 1-0 Germany, 1-0 Netherlands

I think!

thats pragmatic football

they weren’t good to watch, just kept ball and limited risks

even Paraguay missed a pen to knock them out In that game at 0-0

great side but pragmatic

Gary Neville was on about it on MNF

we can’t play their way obviously

haha yes they do there were loads of posts yesterday man

Spain were pragmatic they’ve even said that themselves

I think you’ve got amnesia

keeping the ball really well doesn’t mean you aren’t pragmatic mate.
Don't be a dick mate, it doesn't suit you.

Think we're going off on a pointless tangent here.

If people are criticising Southgate for not giving you a chance that's clearly wrong, as he does. Reallu havent seen much criticism like that myself.

I’m not! He does though there was loads just yesterday! Why would I make that up?

You’re having a laugh, good enough to get in city team at twenty years old, scored some cracking goals, for me he’s the complete player and he will only get better. Wish we had him.
He's absolutely brilliant but I think his finishing could be better, is all

Foden--mount--sterling

Walker-stones-maguire-trippier

Sure I've missed out 5 obvious starters there like. Grealish and rashford.

Swap Henderson for Grealish and take out Stones for another CB who isn’t a car crash waiting to happen and that’s a very good line up.

Grealish as a holding midfielder and Drop stones ahead of Maguire?

I can only go from what I’ve seen of John Stones. What I’ve seen is he’s prone to a brain fart.

Obvious Declan Rice is the holding midfielder not grealish. I just don’t see the point in playing Rice and Henderson together.

Rashford will start over Foden IMO
It's a shame TAA's form has dipped. It just doesn't feel right for me playing Walker at right back/ in defence at all. Pretty good headache for Gareth to have with the attacking / midfield options. I think our CM pairing is make or break for our chances this year. It's a shame Foden doesn't have an identical twin, he'd probably be wasted in CM, but I think he'd be incredible there too for England.
He’s England’s best and most consistent defender by a country mile.

I’d actually play him at CB I think, with Reece James at RB

Stones has been largely very good for the last 3 years and incredible this season
Grealish has to play ahead of sterling. Better player
No. Its not close either IMO

I've watched a lot of Man City's games, and there's no denying I think he's a good defender and player. He's not been outstanding for England in the last 5 or 6 games. He's been booked and sent off in that time period too. I think playing alongside the likes of Dias/Laporte has been great for him. I rate Stones, but he's got mistakes in him too.

England’s last 5 games were against Belgium, San Marino, Albania, Poland and Iceland. Walker played in 4 of them and they conceded 1 single goal.

Walker being England’s best defender is indisputable
