I'm sat here with a Westie on me lap snoring and the occasional fart. Mostly by him. I'm thinking about the pets that have touched my life. A Yorky called Whisk springs to mind. Cried my eyes out in front of a Y10 class at Pennywell when he died. He was 18. A cat called Tiger who licked my ears and was lovely, and a cat called Fluffy who my mrs worshipped like I did Whisk, and was Tiger's brother
Any pets you want to share a story about?

I have 2 cats TC and Benney. Coming up to 6 years old. Boil my piss at times when they decide to chase each other from one end of the flat to the other. Other than that I love them to bits. Had a Lakeland Terrier for me last dog and he lived to about 15. Right evil little bastard but he loved me and our boy, had to get me mate to take him to get put down. Couldn't take him myself.

We had a guinea pig called Blackie. One New Years we found him frozen to death in his hutch in the back yard. I cried and prayed for him to go to animal heaven.

Now it's my fish that are my babies.

Moby. Have a 240l fish tank, Flicky. Was gutted when the other fish started picking at him. Lovely fantail.

Know nowt about keeping fish, like

Rabbit called Scamp
Bess, my Dads Border Collie
Zara, my nana's rottie
Glen, my first Border Collie
Stella, my current Border Collie.

we used to have a dog called Uzza, a bouvier, who we took over from an animal shelter, but sadly he has since passed away.

We now have another Bouvier called Nessie. She is now 18 months old and is about 50 kilos, and although not of my doing. she has had her own blog since she was 7 weeks old

Yeah. There's a massive dog that lives about 3 doors up from me, he's a . His bark is deeper than that guys voice who does the adverts for the movies. And now theres 2 little buggers who live across the road who yap yap yap all day long, ontop of that, the absolute t-total tard of an owner who spends every sunday hosing out his back yard of shit piss and fag buts right into the back alley.

Welcome to England.

when i was 10 my pet ferret Mary bit my mam on the foot in the backyard, she drowned it in a pail of water,i always kept my ferrets/polecats away from my mam after that..

had my first dog Buzz an alsatian collie cross. only had one testicle. had it removed then thevother one dropped. put to sleep with cancer aged around 15. was with him when he went. wept buckets for days:-(

next one Sam a Lab collie cross, gentle as owt with kids, pups, bitches, and older dogs, but would fight like owt with other fit dogs. never ever started it. he would stand stock still when they came near him, but as soon as they went to sniff his back end, hackles up, tail up, growl a warning, then turn on them. he died of cancer, and the biggest regret of mke life was the fact i wasn't with him when he went. couldn't do it and i have lived with the guilt until this day.:-(

both rescue dogs,

current one Ben is 2yrs old and a pedigree Lab, mental.:-D

My pet cat, Sony, died about 2 hours ago. Feel a lot more gutted than I thought I would. The lad was daft as a brush. Had him 10 years.

I got a Greyhound from the Sheepfolds, never seen owt as skinny in my life she was a bag of bones and a bag of nerves. It took ages to get her confidence and health back she was an absolute diamond, me and her used to walk for miles. One day down the river she was running around jumping about all over the place when she just stopped and turned to look at me with one leg hanging, I ran like fuck and she'd slashed her leg wide open and the blood was pissing out. They talk about adrenalin kicking in and it's true, I picked her up and ran all the way from North Hylton to Castletown and got me Da to drive us to the vets. We were seen as an emergency and she had to stop in overnight. The vet told us later that if we hadn't got her down as quickly as we did she'd have bled to death.
She limped for the rest of her life but at least it was a long one. :-D

me dad had a jack russel cross when he was about 7yr old, had it from a pup.

me dad was the youngest of 10 and the dog trom being a pup went everywhere with him.

came in from school one day and found out his dad had drowned it. the dog was only around 5 yrs old and me da was never given a reason.

me da hated him for that.

we had two cats.just got the one now.my avatar "dennis".me dennis and the wife are still mourning our other cat, dennis's brother "dusty"after nearly a year.had to have him put down.we came back from our hols to find him at deaths door.if you have more than one pet,and one dies or is put to sleep, take it home to let the others know that it's dead.dennis still does'nt know what happened to his brother, and goes around calling for him.f***ing heartbreaking.

Sorry A but yer granda was an arsehole, I can't understand the mentality of anyone who could deliberately drown an animal.

Fergus, my Sottish Fold. Mad as a box of frogs, scared of his shadow.

Had a routine rabies jab back in 2007, and when I got him back to the flat, he'd started to hyperventilate, started howling, throwing up and shaking.....rushed him back to the vets, where he was taken straight back in, put on antihistamines and steroids for three day.... Turns out he went into anaphylactic shock from the jab and would have died if I hadn't taken him back.

He's fine now... And the most gormless looking cat in the world.

fairly common thing round our way 1960's and before.

pit village, cant afford vets, bitch has pups, dog has injury/illness, live around half mile from the river, into a sack with a couple of housebricks, into river, job done.

me da's dog was healthy though.

and yer right he definitely looks gormless.

My dad had a dog called Scamp when he was about 6-21
he once went on a walk with him down Ryhope cliff,

luvulongtime may remember hill 60 down by Ryhope cliffside;)

anyway near there a bit of the cliff gave way and my dad was left hanging on ..the dog ran back up to the main road and started biting some bloke to get his attention whom he then led to where my dad was.

according to my grandad my dad has never cried so much in his life than when Scamp died...top dog apparently.
