Petrol in a Diesel

Petrol station usually have a number of specialist behind the counter.....Did this at sainsbuys once, cost me £150 for some bloke in a van to come out, drain system of the £50 of fuel just put in....That tank of fuel in total cost me £250.....We now have two petrol cars rather than a petrol and a diesel

Great business btw, the lad who did mine at about 3pm said I shouldnt feel too daft, he had already done 7 that day.......If that was a normal day there is some serious money in this business.
Apparently they sell the mixed fuel to museums with tanks ( army ones as opposed to fish) as they will run on mixed fuel

I wonder what these lads do with the fuel they remove from stricken vehicles? They can't put it down drains, they can't resell it as it's contaminated, unless they sell it to users of all-fuel vehicles but there can't be many of them around.

Maybe it gets stockpiled then returned to the refinery?

There are companies that can “polish” fuel now, basically they put it through a process whereby they reclaim a decent amount of the original fuel. They don’t do a petrol can full though, we are talking thousands of litres. So they possibly stockpile all of the fuel they collect and have it polished in one go when they have a few thousand litres.
