Heard on the grapevine from one or two people up here who know him that Moores is a really nice bloke etc. However as an England coach he just hasnt cut it at all. I see that pressure is now starting to mount on him:

England have run out of excuses - Peter Moores is now under serious pressure

Appointing Moores once was a mistake, appointing him twice now looks like a dereliction of duty by the ECB. He has to go, shirley?

Nice guys don't cut it at the top level. Not saying that you have to be a proper dick to be good, you just have to have an inner drive, complete confidence, a strong will, thick skin and the ability to give certain players a dressing down. I'm not sure Moores has any of these things.

The England team is full of nice guys as well. They look like new born pups when compared to the Aussie players. The Aussies are built like brick shithouses and our lads just have a look of weakness about them. If you want to know what I mean, imaging your batting and Joe Root and James Taylor came up to you and started giving you shit... You'd piss yourself laughing at them. Now compare that to if David Warner and Aaron Finch did.

I'm talking about the bowlers as well. Golden Boy Broad doesn't seem to give a shit once things heat up. Steven Finn reeks of mental weakness. Chris Woakes is hardly intimidating. It's like a team of Ed Miliband's.

We also appear to be a team driven by stats. Whoever runs the computer at the ECB appears to dictate our tactics

i made it clear on moores re-appointment the likely scenario and it is clearly happening, he got lucky winning the india series.

as it stands we will be lucky to get out of the groyp in this world cup, will lose in the windies and get smashed in both test series in the summer v new zealand and australia.

his appointment of ramprakash sums him up as ramps simply bar a couple of innings was found out at international level. sad but an oversea coach is needed and i would not mind tom moody

Totally correct. Ramprakash was not god enough and now he is the batting coach. There is a famous tv excerpt that shows Rapmrakash batting against the West Indies (I think) and you can see the fear in his eyes. You can hear him talking as follows, "Look at the ball, look at the ball!" Some coach eh?

Funnily enough if you watch the Ricky Ponting batting masterclass that has been shown on Sky a few times he tells us what he's doing as the bowler is coming on to bowl at him He's saying 'watch the ball watch the ball'.

A bit similar eh?

But there's method in the madness. As Ponting explains, he's not going to not watch the ball but he repeats the mantra to attempt to drive other thoughts out of his head so that when the ball is bowled he plays it naturally rather than a pre-conceived shot to an inappropriate ball.
