People who work on building sites

Especially in this type of weather .

Could pay me a fortune and I'd still be sick as a chip doing it.

Getting up early doors Monday to Friday, working all day for next 8 and a half hours ,sometimes longer .

Quite a few building sites near me and they are deserted by early afternoon on a Friday.

Several of my friends went to shifting tiles for roofs straight from school with our friend's dad and were paid £60 a week. They were earning £800 per week roofing by the late 90s before they even did any private work. Always in the pub by 3. One of them is an absolute jakey now, works in a corner shop when he turns up. Total waste.
Body was probably fucked from the work TBF.

Hard working lads. They certainly put the graft in and I wouldn't fancy it in the cold either.
When I have done a full day in the garden or doing DIY even just at my own glacial pace I'm ready to fall asleep the minute I get back in the house. Those lads are far fitter and work much harder.

Ex smoker syndrome. Never worked on a site but I can imagine it would be a laugh with the right people. No need to go to the gym after sitting on your arse all day.
Most of the younguns go straight to the gym as it happens. Was on site in shields before lockdown and the vast majority of the lads went to mma gyms after work. They talked about grappling all day.

Drove past the lads working on the new coast road next to the Marsden Grotto.
Wind howling in off the sea with rain and sleet, looked terrible.
Not sure how much they earn but should have danger money for grafting outdoors in the winter.

You answered your own post man. No disrespect mate at all as I don’t know ya earnings but I’m sure not many lads on site will be looking at passing drivers thinking I wish I was on minimum wage driving a warm van.
Probably won't be on as much as people in trades on a building site , I know that full well ,read my opening post ,I said you couldn't pay me a fortune to do that type of work , its all to do with what suits you as a person isn't it.
Rather be on less and do something I don't mind that be on more money and hate my job.
