People testing your pain threshold........🤢

I went for my chiropodist appointment for my ingrown big toenails, my regular lady wasn't who I was seeing but I didn't think it would be too bad.........I was wrong.
The moment she set about my feet she had a glint in her eye and was doing it with gusto, so much that I tensed up and sensed pain incoming.
When she got to my big toes she said "I'm going to try and look under this nail so brace yourself", I looked at her and I immediately thought of Steve Martin in little shop of horrors and just about managed not to swear (I made a few noises, I said "since it's fused to the skin and ingrown into the corner if in doubt cut it out")....she wasn't gentle and I was clenching everything while she said "I'm sorry, I'm sorry'............
I think I'll make sure I see my kinder, gentler lady next time

I've had some terrible experiences at the dentist.
When he tried to yank out a tooth it cracked in half and part flew across the room.
Yeah I had that happen at the dental hospital years ago, the young lass ended up kneeling on my chest for leverage and it came out in pieces 🤢
Toes are pointless anyway, nowt but bother.
She asked if I'd thought about having them off, I said yes but I didn't fancy it (especially since my body takes longer to heal being diabetic).

Well I have a fear of dentists now. Had a wisdom tooth out last year......under sedation
I had a phobia after being butchered at about 11 years old, only managed to get over it a good few decades later tbh.
What sedation do they do these days ? The gas I had as a kid was part of my fear tbh
One tried to fill mine and the nerve was exposed. I was on the ceiling for a bit.
Ouch 😳

Its a long time ago, but I remember her having to try to get the decay out with some metal prong rather than a drill.

Oooooh, it's great. Paid £500 mind for a wisdom tooth out mind. But I had no recollection of it. Needle in the back of the hand. Marvellous

I snapped a tooth in junior school clean in half, exposing the nerve. Went to the dentist and he prodded it with a metal probe and said "Yep, I think the nerve is exposed"...not shit Sherlock. A fair few decades has passed since then, I still double up and cringe at the mere thought of that moment

I had both my big toenails removed 40 years ago, they freeze them then put what looks like a teaspoon but razor sharp under the nail and off it pops, then they pour some sort of acid into the nailbed to stop it from regrowing, It took months to heal and I had to wear sandals for about 6 weeks, a few years ago after getting my appendix out I couldn't cut my nails so I went to a chiropodist, I got a 20% discount 🤣

I used to run ridiculous miles....like 70 miles a week (arthritis stops that nonsense now). As all runners will tell you, toe nails sometimes go black and lift from one side.

I ripped one of mine off, first time I'd come across a toe nail that had lifted. Not only did it hurt, the amount of blood was incredible

Bairn jammed me finger in the car door nail clean off and broken finger does that count,

Should have put the little shit up for adoption
I've had a nail snap across ways near the nail bed when I got it caught in one of those push entry security door handles, it smarted a tad 🤢
Had a big, nasty-looking mole removed from my chest. The doc started to scalpel it out before the local anesthetic had kicked in.
Weirdly I had one like that on my back / shoulder area and another on the top of one arm.
The doctor injected the site on both, the arm one was cut off without any bother, the one on my back he used something that looked like a mini apple corer, I had to ask him to stop on that one 🤢
