time to step up to the plate. Who knows, in 6-8 weeks time, Bramble and Turner could be the regular subs with Ferdinand and Da Silva in top form.

Aye mate, Maakmaak was sayin this on another thread. Hopefully he can recapture his world cup/early SAFC form.

If I was Bruce I'd be telling them (Anton & PDS) that they were the 1st choice pairing for the next few months (atleast) and get them working in tandem in training. Both are good players.

Always thought he was decent when playing for us, lacks a bit of pace but reads the game really well.

due to his lack of pace he drops off his last man and therefore reads the game well. However it does create other issues such as their attackers will get more time on the ball. I watched him live for the first time last week but also felt this when watching him last season. Actually it was pretty much the same at the world cup. We need better than him and it is such a shitter he may well play....that aside, good luck to the lad and i hope he proves to himself he is a premier league player.

I think we'll struggle against high balls with them 2 at the back.

I was surprised in the world cup just how well Da Silva done in the air. He was rarely beaten iirc. As I've said, if he's not used now what's the point of Bruce keeping him? He's 30 years old and an international captain of a team the got to the 1/4 finals. This opportunity gives him the chance to get prepared and finally make an inpact on the premiership. hopefully

So would you still play those 2 when Mensah is fit?
