I presume the next step will be a No Pork or Bacon check out.

No alcohol in the name of the "Religion of Peace.
AK47s and Semtex no problem.

A little bit of me thinks what is the problem with having a till that doesn't allow alcohol through it. It's not the end of the world.

But, I think, the sooner we insist that in the work place there will be no concessions to race, creed, nationality or religion the better.

You will dress as the work place deems, you keep your praying and other religious habits to outside work hours. So if you need to sell alcohol you will. It really won't hurt you.

We are all people first, let's celebrate our sameness rather than compounding our differences.

I'd raise a glass to that, but all of the tills this morning were staffed by muslims refusing to sell alcohol

Given that theres probably tens of thousands of muslim shop owners who have no issue selling these sort of goods then theyre clearly just being needlessly overly militant for the sake of it.

And being of militant type they should be reminded that they could be on the extreme end of islam and as such you have a duty to report as a potential terror threat. Im sure that would make them change their tune

Fight their silliness with more silliness

My local shop owner is Muslim. He'd sell pork flavoured beer wrapped in a porn mag if he could make a few quid on it

Well done to the company for considering an employee's work/life balance. :)

Theres that, then theres taking it too far. Who would get a job in a store where a large part of the stuff they sell offends them ? When any shop or store or any company takes someone on, why dont they tell the prospective employee that the job has to be done to suit us, not you ? You don't like that, then why are you applying.
In a wharehouse, would a forklift driver dictate what he's prepared to move.
I used to work as a barman in newcastle. I did'nt go to the boss and say, Mind i'm not serving any mags with a barcode top on.
I don't ask at my curry house if they can do mine with non Halal meat.
Tell the kid on the checkout to do his job and stop being so precious, or resign.
