I think you’re right! And then Allardyce.Anybody find the one before that? A quick scan and I think it’s Jimmy Adamson to LeedsAlex Neil surely?
Exactly.Shows that lack of ambition we’ve had in the past. I’m not saying there aren’t good managers out of work but it’s quite telling. No surprise we’ve had so many when we have always went for the cheapest option. You have to pay for quality.
Steve Bruce was 3m to get him (almost positive) and to sack him. Luckiest man alive, mad more in sackings than anything else, great job
I thought it was Smith who agreed to pay the compensation back to the club if he failed to take us up. But my memory isn’t that good these days.Denis Smith had to remortgage his house to pay the compensation himself, Bob Murray refused to pay it but Smith was so desperate for the job he paid it himself. I think he had an agreement with Bob, that he would get the money back from the club if he got promoted first time of asking.
That bits correct. He’d agreed to pay the club it. What a bloke!Didn’t we have to sign Dick Advocaat from his Mrs for a bunch of flowers?
