Time to change things up with the players we have available to us.

Patterson
Sanderson Wright Younger
Diamond Gooch
Neil O'Nien
Jones Wyke or Stewart McGeady

Subs: Wyke or Stewart, Curry, Kimpioka, Scowen, Vokins, CH, GK

Press high up the pitch, plenty of pace, take the game to the opposition. Attack, attack, attack, attack, attack

It's a tough one for Younger I think. The Willis injury will help him but we've already got Wright and Flanagan on contracts for next season (with Xhemajli obviously on contract for another year too). Then we've got Sanderson (who is a good player that we need to play - as much to ensure we get good loans in the future as anything). I think he'll make the bench from week to week but probably shouldn't be put into the first team straight away - even if we do pivot to planning for next season. I think with our issues at keeper and our need for more technical ability in midfield, Patterson and Neil have stronger cases. Diamond is getting enough time as it is now I think.

Younger has looked good every time I've seen him and think he could make the step up. Patterson was ok too I wouldn't be against throwing him in giving what was witnessed last night.

Neil - should be on the bench too.

Don't think we will see any though.

It would do no harm to give them a go. I wouldn’t start Diamond though he has proven he can run fast but with very little purpose and he can’t pass a ball or cross a ball and his decision making is shocking.

Surely that's the point though, give him and the others the chance to learn and develop their games.

That depends if we are wanting to go up or not. If the others are ready then great let’s go for it. Diamond isn’t ready and should have been loaned out.

It's early days but Vokins looks absolutely shocking. I've no idea what his strength is meant to be, but seems to have no positional sense whatsoever. Younger looked ok, why not give him 3 games to see what he can do? Why do we seem to hate giving our youth a chance at the expense of players that are failing miserably?

Patterson should come in now.
Couldn't agree more. I always thought we faffed Pickford about for too long loaning him out and leaving him behind the likes of Mannone when he should have been in.

If Patterson is really no better than the two clowns we've got vying for the jersey at the moment he might as well jack it all in and play Sunday League with his mates instead. Lad must be fuming at being considered less of an option than those two morons floundering about the six yard box like a pissed up octopus.
Pattison should have been in yesterday, we already know Matthews is crap.
Well if we weren't sure before yesterday he very helpfully clarified his ability for us last night.

Looks to me like a total wingback. Might have been alright if we'd stuck with 3 at the back and wingbacks.

Could be Reid vs reading granted.

I don't know how good the 2 defensive players are, if the coaches believe they could make championship players then I'm all for it.
Arnott, Rowell, Elliott.
If we had crowds in I’d be all for it. People would realise the clubs finally admitting publically what everyone inc themselves have known for ages.

Should these be a fixture in the side from now until the end of the season?

Forego promotion and try build for the future?

Developing players doesn't mean playing them every single game regardless. We need to do what is right for each individuals development.

Plenty of our fans have already slated a 20 year old left back based on 160 minutes. They'll be just as critical as soon as Patterson let's in a goal that he should have saved or Younger gives the ball away that leads to a goal.

Matthews needs dropping, as well as O'Brien (I Know he scored, but he just isn't good enough).

As shaky as Vokins has been, we don't have any fit natural left backs and he's been involved in some grim team performances. He stays in the side for me. O'Nien starts in CM.

I'd have Diamond and Jones on the wings. Possibly try McGeady in behind Wyke, at least he has a shot on him if the ball drops.. even if he isn't very effective in the middle. Failing that Stewart should be knocking about soon, god bless him coming into this team at the minute.

Patterson gets thrown into the mix too, and if he doesn't perform in a handful of games we sign a free agent keeper now that the salary cap has been scrapped.
