It would make quite the statement if this how we are looking to run long term.

Seems a bit premature giving up on the play offs at this point though.
Why does it automatically mean giving up on the play offs though? We're giving up on the play offs now with the so called experienced, tried and trusted.

Would it be giving up though? Theres no saying we cant still make the play off. It's not looking likely now anyway

I know I said forego promotion. I think I meant not promotion at all costs allow the risk of our young lads making mistakes

It doesnt, I'm just assuming they would need 10 games to learn how they can effect the game and that would naturally result in slightly worse outcome.

I don't know how good Patterson is, I think younger would be less effective than Flanagan. I'm all for starting neil and diamond.

We won’t make the playoffs until we find our best team. Giving the youth a chance will kick the old pros up the backside and bring a bit of enthusiasm. I’m all up for that given the performances over the last few games.

Could be Reid vs reading granted.

I don't know how good the 2 defensive players are, if the coaches believe they could make championship players then I'm all for it.

Agreed. I think the salary cap abolition changes the calculation a little but there’s probably still a little way to go before we make that sort of move. I’d give it maybe another month.

Now the wage cap has been scrapped in less inclined to go for the “promotion at all costs” approach and more happy to take a measured longer term approach (but still targeting automatic promotion next season) if it’s for the good of the club.

These players are the future of this club and we should be blooding them now, then bringing in the players to complement them and create a squad for promotion over the summer.
