Patterson’s kicking

A good young goalkeeper but needs to improve this areas of his game massively. Been in the team roughly 3 seasons now and no improvement in his kicking. The goalkeeping coaches should be really working with him on this. Kicked it straight out 3 times tonight. Great win by the way. Massive difference having a clever and experienced player like Pritchard in there
What do your kids get at Christmas - a satsuma and the washing up?

😂😂😂😂

Love how you’ve changed your tune. You literally had an argument with me saying he doesn’t do it, now there’s no hiding he does it’s changed to, “we don’t concede from it”.

It’s the same with absolutely everything. I’ve sat in the same seat for as long as I remember, can discuss our pros and cons no bother, really good constructive discussion, soon as you do it on a football forum your called all sorts it’s ridiculous.
No I didn't. I think its absolutely mental the focus it gets - you would think he was Douglas Bader the way you and some go on. His kicking is adequate, its sometimes solid and other times below par but in the grand scheme of things its not a big deal because the overall package of a goalkkeper is a very good one. It certainly doesn't warrant you spontaneously combusting because shock, horror a goalkeeper hitting a ball to the wing has kicked it out of play. And yes he is probably the only keeper I have seen over the last 3 years that hasn't made a major mess up with his feet.

Ive no doubt when it does happen, and its bound to one day that you will have a party to celebrate.

People recognise all the time and point out positives, as soon as they state a negative it goes bang on here. Doesn’t happen in the ground on here is a nightmare for it. In my post I even pointed out Patterson is a great young keeper, and look at the responses I’ve had straight away.

😂😂😂😂

There we go. Walking out of the ground last night everyone was buzzing, there was convos going on all over about the game. However there was also convos about how Ba was poor at times and how Patto needs to work on his kicking. Everyone was happy and having perfectly constructive conversations.

Come on a forum literally designed to discuss football and try to have the same convo and there’s comments like this, and ya get called worse than shit. Absolutely laughable, I swear people must have unlimited sand on this forum.
I know where you’re coming from but it’s the same on most forums or social media. Having a conversation with someone at the match, you would phrase it differently ans there would be body language. Plus in a big enough group a few would disagree with you. That’s why phrasing online is so important. Starting with ” he’s a good keeper but” and “massively needs to work on” is quite a negative start.

also given some of the rubbish constantly spouted on here, it’s easier to get an instant opposing reaction.

Why the f would I have a party to celebrate you absolute whopper. Do I go to the games to be disappointed, do I spend a decent chunk of my hard earned purely to torture myself and hope we lose every week.

Or is it that, like most if not all fans I talk to at the match, I can quite happily discuss both positives and negative of a player.

You are absolutely ridiculous when it comes to Patto, he’s a very good young keeper but you simply won’t engage in the fact there’s areas of his game he can improve. Much like this forum on any negative at all that’s brought up, it’s laughable.

Anybody can see that his kicking is the weakest part of his game, I did notice that Neil and Huggins were giving him the thumbs up for his quick throw in the first half which caught Leeds out, he doesn't do that enough imo.
Spot on. Me and the fella who sits in front of me were in shock how quickly he released the ball. Definitely need to see more of that from him as it'll favour us for quick counters especially

I think the OP has a point, and I think that if he'd posted this two weeks ago he'd be getting more agreement than grief.

Patterson was excellent yesterday, but I'd rather he be just a little bit better on an area that should be straightforward to fix.

If you expect perfection then you’re going to be disappointed. I’ve seen the likes of Allison and other PL and CL keepers gift goals with poor kicking that would cause meltdowns on here. At least Patto’s poor kicks go out of play and don’t cost us goals. Made a couple of belting passes last night too.

I think it's the over top exaggeration of how bad it supposedly is that's the problem

This utter helmet OP has sat thinking of a negative to put up after a good win. Keep it up spanner

I'm not sure we need a keeper to be class with both feet.

Did it on purpose so we would have eleven players on the pitch and Leeds ten.

Looks like there’s a few who think the same. Good young keeper, very good shot stopper but agree needs to command the area a bit better. Not sure why people get so wound up on here just because people make a slightly negative comment. I said it was a good win. Do you think the manager goes into training as says to all the players “you won on sat so I won’t point out any things we didn’t do so well because you won” Always things to improve on. Makes me laugh, the people who are calling me a mag and sad are people posting at 4am in the morning! Must have a amazing life
