Our pen was a blatant foul mind. Some dispute as to whether or not it was in the box

Only saw it at the time and a quick replay. Initially I thought foul, second time it looked like he didn't touch him. not bothered either way, I'd prefer if he hadn't touched him if it riles Barton.

It’s a funny one
On one hand PP is far too negative in his approach however we have seen improved performances in the last 2 games & picked up 4 points from 6 away from home
Win v Lincoln then I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt - at the end of the day we have to win home games
Another defeat is not acceptable

This. As long as we keep improving then great. I couldn't give a shit who the manager is if we get results. This fella has a poor record thus far but we've certainly showed signs of improvement the last 2 games.
The football at home has to change mind. It's far too easy to play against.

I agree with the general sentiments of your post. However, Phil inherited a team which was in decent form i.e. not good enough to be in auto-promotion places. But solidly in playoff form.

The facts - 1.73 points per game under Ross, 1.2 points per game (as of 5pm today) under Parkinson.

and on an upward projectory with a system seemingly embedded

If we cannot win 2 or 3 games in a row soon we are just gonna hover around mid table or playoffs when automatic is there for the taking. This league is doable and we simply must for for it

Agree with all points except point 2. I think this side has the potential to show ross up for what he was. A bluffer. No doubt he had issues to deal with but show me a manager that doesnt. That is a huge part of being a manager, you manage situations and people. Obviously PP was no ones first choice but he has had a rough deal. I honestly believe if we had appointed him instead of ross, we would be in a much better position now. Hes no mourinho but he is competent and experienced at this level. This is no knee jerk from me btw after a couple of decent performances. I have repeatedly made the point that he shouldn't be blamed for this mess. The situations these two managers have come into this club under are like night and day. People accuse others of being taken in by donald but i think more were, and are still being, taken in by ross. Hes hugely culpable for this mess in my opinion.

I posted something on another thread the other day something which I think adds some context to your view.
I will dig it out and repost

I know Grigg and McNulty arent exactly pulling up trees but why the persistence in that waste of space up front. What does he see that I cant and probably many others. Why wait to put McNulty on with 10 left does he want to keep on trying to preserve a point. If hes serious about play offs draws are no good when we were in with a shout of winning that game.

its obvious isn’t it. He might not be doing a great deal with the ball but he’s a physical handful, some one who can be targeted with crosses, is going to accommodate a couple of defenders and the ball might just drop to one of our support strikers. Not rocket science, but it’s what the other two can’t do.

f***ing shit.

Performances are still f***ing shit.

He needs binning right now. Why are people not relentless in wanting him out?
GET THE BUGGER SACKED!
You can’t beat a good sacking and we haven’t had one for weeks, Or even months.

Were largely the better side. Their goal came from some poor defending where we had several opportunities to clear very early on, but messed up a header - Wyke went for it and didn't get there but I don't think there player got it either. Would have to see it back but it was soft IMO.

We looked better in possession than them, still lack quality in the final third and were a bit direct, but there were signs of some decent play, especially down the left with Gooch and Hume.

Second half we started strong, Wyke header hit the post (or was it left post and then the right?), O'nien missed an absolute sitter from a few yards out and I think Maguire missed a chance. We were the better side for the first ten to 15 and then they started getting into it again. They occasionally broke on us, McLaughlin made another couple of decent saves and as time wore on we started to make subs to try and affect the game, a couple of quite attacking ones. We were the better side again but quality in the final third was still a bit lacking and then Watmore got on the ball again and ran into the penalty area from the right and fell over - we got a pen, which I haven't seen back but looked soft as fuck. Maguire scored.

By that point we had a bit of a head of steam and were trying to put pressure on, had a few attacks but nothing really materialised. 4 mins were added on and the game more or less just petered out.

It's late and I've had a few beers so it might not be accurate, but it was full of effort and fight again.

Cheers. Good news. I was at the cinema with the kids so didnt see much. Big couple of home games to come.

Give him a chance? He’s had 15 games and won 3 FFS!!

You will just cut your off your nose to spite your face if you did. He should be in position at least until the play offs are no longer achievable. But I do think he can get us promoted still. We are starting to take shape and remind me a little of the teams that Reidy first got promoted with in in 96’. Solid not spectacular but increasingly consistent

I was dreading the games against Doncaster and Fleetwood after the performance v Bolton.

However there was evidently a lot of improvement in those games, so much so that I will support him against Lincoln.

He is still doing a poor job overall, however he has improved performances recently (would have won back to back games if the referee knew you only award a penalty if there is a foul in the box).

Lincoln game is absolutely crucial for us though, our home form is pathetic this season, but a win against Lincoln and it’ll look a lot rosier for us in the league. Must win game, no doubt about it.

What? Aye, let’s give him more time to ruin this season so we have a 3rd season in this dump league rather than sacking him now and brining in somebody who can make sure we at least get the play offs!

couple of things.
1. he was offered the job he took it, he’s our manager.
2. Anyone who believes that all the problem was with Ross is naive.
3. he’s changed the formation mid season.. a formation Ross could not make work.
4. Hes not been able to bring in any of his own players yet.
5. He has acted with great dignity despite the abuse and expectations. Not blamed anyone, not got defensive.
6. He was not an inspirational appointment, but we have him now and he’s wise enough to get us promoted.
8. Give him a chance
Hew mate...absolutely fine post mind

I feel sorry for Parkinson. He was brave enough to take on a club with enormous potential but who were in financial, results and performance free fall. Many of the players just weren't fit, not good enough and worst of all not trying hard enough. Add to that having a Billy big bollocks in the team causing division.
He had very little way to change this outside of a transfer window and it looks odds on that Donald has taken a huff and will not bankroll anything this month either.
He has done what he can by sorting out fitness, isolating McGeedy and getting a system of play in place that even our limited squad can execute, although doesn't guarantee consistent results as we sorely lack a decent target man.
We cannot continue with this screaming for instant gratification as there are years of bad decisions that need unravelling at our club and that will take time and patience.
Let's home PP can get a loan striker in who can actually hit the target and hope for the best.
