I want him out and remain very unconvinced but I can see some encouraging signs.

need a win on Saturday mind then we can look at it again.

Broadly agree with that. I was really uncertain a few weeks ago because we looked so bad, almost like our worst days in the Prem. Could kind of deal with that then, but in League 1 it was just awful. Given that, I wasn't sure Parkinson should be given a transfer window, he hadn't really proven he deserved it. But the last three matches, you can see signs of life. Even the Bolton match was an improvement, you could see the plan and the shape, it just wasn't quick enough and lacked the final ball. The last two have built on that. It's not great, but the foundations of success are evident. It's worth riding with him for now to see if it can be sustained.

When he first came in it's kind of what he done against Tranmere and Gooch got injured. He tried it again but I think it was Shrewsbury and we couldn't sustain the pressure as they were resolute in defence and passed their way through us easily, McGeady coming back in (IIRC) didn't really help the press either. For a while it was allover the place, bit of a mish mash without scraping results and I think confidence evaporated and he even put Leadbitter in for a bit of leadership and to try and get hold of the ball a bit, but it didn't help in the way intended.

A combination of things like moving Conor McLaughlin and Grigg out, getting Jon McLaughlin into some kind of form and finding roles where Hume and O'Nien weren't as exposed or restricted, Wyke coming back in as the focal point and moving Leadbitter out so there was legs in midfield, with Gooch back has helped too. It's far from perfect or the finished article but there are signs of a bit more play and understanding coming though - at times it's a bit direct forward to Wyke, but more and more we're seeing some interplay between Hume and Gooch and so whilst there are positive signs, however small they are I think we just have to back them and given them the opportunity.

I strongly dislike his style of football. He just loves a long diagonal ball for a wing back to run into 1 in 3, or aimless out swinger into the box that rarely produces anything. We give the ball away a lot doing this.

His record in the Championship is pretty poor too, so I’m not convinced he’s the man to take us through the leagues.

It seems obvious that we’re stuck with him, so I’ll be getting behind the team awaiting his inevitable sacking within 18 months regardless of if we get promoted or not.

How long do you give someone performing so shit like?? If he had been in charge a year would his results be less acceptable?

I’d gladly eat humble pie. I highly doubt I will be though
Last 2 games have been the best footy since before ross arrived.Keep ya cutlery ready for ya pie

A few points from me:

- Parkinson wasn't a popular choice. As a result, he's been on the back foot from day dot with little or no support from the fans;

- He inherited a team in poor form, low on confidence and lacking quality, certainly in the final third;

- There's onviously been issues behind the scenes that he's also had to contend with, consequently McGeady has been transfer listed much to dissatisfaction of many fans, myself included, however I think we can all agree that he has been poor this season when given a chance and particularly poor under Parkinson. Whether that's Parkinson's fault, McGeady's unwillingness to play or something in between, we don't know, but a decision has been made and we have to accept it;

- We've earned 4 points out of the last two games, two games which honestly I expected little from (that's how far we've falled), but we must give credit where credit is due. We outplayed both sides and have looked a lot better than what we have become used to. We battled all game today and were very unfortunate not to get all three points. I felt we were better than Fleetwood all over the park.

To summarise, I don't think now is the time to be getting on Parkinson's back, we may well have turned a corner, I'm desperately hoping we have. A win against Lincoln and a few new signings could put us back in the promotion picture.
Holy shit! A well constructed, detailed post! I thought these days were well gone on here.

f***ing shit.

Performances are still f***ing shit.

He needs binning right now. Why are people not relentless in wanting him out?

Don’t tell me...... appoint Kevin Phillips, Pearson or Keane as we have a zillionaire owner who want to spunk cash all over. The penny will drop soon. Yes he’s shit but stuck with him now Jesus get over it will you it’s f***ing boring now!

Well said. You sober? Sensible? Wanted a protest a few weeks back and wanted him out but it’s getting no one nowhere. No money so best just go with it until the chuckle brothers find a buyer

Didnt see much of today. Did we play OK or did we regress back again to pre-Donny?

Were largely the better side. Their goal came from some poor defending where we had several opportunities to clear very early on, but messed up a header - Wyke went for it and didn't get there but I don't think there player got it either. Would have to see it back but it was soft IMO.

We looked better in possession than them, still lack quality in the final third and were a bit direct, but there were signs of some decent play, especially down the left with Gooch and Hume.

Second half we started strong, Wyke header hit the post (or was it left post and then the right?), O'nien missed an absolute sitter from a few yards out and I think Maguire missed a chance. We were the better side for the first ten to 15 and then they started getting into it again. They occasionally broke on us, McLaughlin made another couple of decent saves and as time wore on we started to make subs to try and affect the game, a couple of quite attacking ones. We were the better side again but quality in the final third was still a bit lacking and then Watmore got on the ball again and ran into the penalty area from the right and fell over - we got a pen, which I haven't seen back but looked soft as fuck. Maguire scored.

By that point we had a bit of a head of steam and were trying to put pressure on, had a few attacks but nothing really materialised. 4 mins were added on and the game more or less just petered out.

It's late and I've had a few beers so it might not be accurate, but it was full of effort and fight again.

We need a big performance on Saturday. Ultimately if we are going to sign someone we should spend the lot on one striker
I agree but if they pay the £10 mill loan back, we have only SD's kitty money, and after the shit he has had, and the fact the club will not be his by end of Feb I don't think he will spend a penny

Our pen was a blatant foul mind. Some dispute as to whether or not it was in the box

It’s a funny one
On one hand PP is far too negative in his approach however we have seen improved performances in the last 2 games & picked up 4 points from 6 away from home
Win v Lincoln then I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt - at the end of the day we have to win home games
Another defeat is not acceptable
