What did you feel about Ross'' last 21 games which brought us 6 wins including the most embarrassing of performances at Lincoln and Peterborough where we got absolutely hammered? Were you as critical of him? PP inherited a side that were losing games and giving in at the first sign of something going wrong.
I wanted Ross sacked last February mate. Said he was shit before anybody else.

f***ing shit.

Performances are still f***ing shit.

He needs binning right now. Why are people not relentless in wanting him out?

I'll be honest, I wouldn't lose a second of sleep if he went BUT last two performances have been much improved (Doncaster best for a good while, second half I thought we tried to pass it around), the players look like they're playing for him and we got 4 points from 2 away games, one against a very good home side. It's got to be backed up and has to be the minimum expected, but if we beat Lincoln I'd take 7 from these last 3. If Phillips had come in, had a slow start then stayed improving people would say it shows he's getting it right. We did enough tactically etc to win the game today, we made enough chances, last two games (again, I know it's only two games but still) I can't criticise Parkinson

The thing is if the team had put the same effort into the previous 10 games we wouldn’t be in the position we are in and the points earned vs Donny and Fleetwood would be a decent return from two away games.

I want him gone, I can’t see how he will turn it around so much that we get promotion but it doesn’t look like that will happen. Therefore we are going to have to hope the level of performance stays as it is for the rest of the season and we get a couple of decent improvements in.

A couple of decent performances and people suddenly forget how terrible we’ve been. Not for me. It’s only 6 days ago we drew at home to Bolton FFS

What about the 6 wins in 21 games before he came in including that absolute hammerings at Lincoln and Peterborough? He inherited a group of players who were increasingly not giving a fuck. The signs are that he is now changing that around.

What about them? Jack Ross was doing a poor job and got sacked, correct decision. Phil Parkinson has came in and done even worse. Turning it around? Tell me that after 3 or 4 wins on the spin. Right now he’s doing a terrible job. Lets see how we go Saturday - a win is a must.

I agree. The last 2 games have to be a turning point.

Wake up man, he's hardly had it easy for goodness sake. For one, our squad is not as good as people think it is. We rarely outplayed anyone under Ross and really struggled to create opportunities whilst also conceding regularly. We've played well the past two games, let's hope Parkinson has finally gotten through to the players, it sure does look like he has based on what I've seen today.

Hopefully he brings in a few new players this month and helps improve the first team. I can understand the flack he's taken, but if we're seeing improvement, he also deserves praise, as do the players.
Magnificent Gip,agree so much i think a civil partnership is on the cards,haha just joking Ahem cough.Think it was billy batts said the other day that he sensed some fans were hoping for us to get beat.Reading some threads tonight think he may be right.

I’d love nothing more than to say I was wrong about Parkinson (seriously). I know it’s a poor league and won’t take a great deal for us to challenge - 3 points Saturday and it’s been a decent little run after previous performances/results.

4 points from the last 2 games is a decent return. If we don't win on Saturday PP will be shite again.
That's football these days.
We're not different to any other fans.

Turning it around at home is the key and to be fair we have been rotten in general at the SOL. Be interesting how Saturday goes.

I guess the only recent manager you've had time for was PDC?

Ross

Bin him now. His football is utter garbage.

Poyet

Fuck off back to Brighton and take Bardsley with you.

Best not mention your appraisal of title winning Marcos Alonso.

Really is championship level. Defensively he is terrible and attacking wise he looks average.
Apart from Rose when was the last time we had a good LB?

A few points from me:

- Parkinson wasn't a popular choice. As a result, he's been on the back foot from day dot with little or no support from the fans;

- He inherited a team in poor form, low on confidence and lacking quality, certainly in the final third;

- There's onviously been issues behind the scenes that he's also had to contend with, consequently McGeady has been transfer listed much to dissatisfaction of many fans, myself included, however I think we can all agree that he has been poor this season when given a chance and particularly poor under Parkinson. Whether that's Parkinson's fault, McGeady's unwillingness to play or something in between, we don't know, but a decision has been made and we have to accept it;

- We've earned 4 points out of the last two games, two games which honestly I expected little from (that's how far we've falled), but we must give credit where credit is due. We outplayed both sides and have looked a lot better than what we have become used to. We battled all game today and were very unfortunate not to get all three points. I felt we were better than Fleetwood all over the park.

To summarise, I don't think now is the time to be getting on Parkinson's back, we may well have turned a corner, I'm desperately hoping we have. A win against Lincoln and a few new signings could put us back in the promotion picture.

TBF @gipetto that’s quite a good constructive argument.
It’s no secret that I’ve got no time for PP but over the last 2 games there have been positive shoots.
Will be interesting to see what state the squad is in on 1st February though , then we can probably accurately predict where we’ll end up come May

Is that not exactly what you have done? :lol:

Because the sample size for PP is too small to decide that he is even worse and the last couple of performances suggests we can expect further improvement.

My point is people seem to have a pop at those who wanted rid of Ross simply because Parkinson has been utter shite. It is possible to have wanted rid of Ross but not replace him with a f***ing moron, as we have done

As a footballer Phil Parkinson was a model professional as a footballer playing over 500 games. As a manager he has won promotions with Colchester, Bolton and Bradford and led Bradford to a cup final resulting in him being rewarded with the 'Outstanding Managerial Achievement award' for the season and beat the likes of Chelsea, Villa, Arsenal and Sunderland all top flight sides in cup ties. He is the only manager ever to have beaten a Jose Mourinho Chelsea side after being 2-0 down. He was incredibly dignified in how he handled the crisis at Bolton showing himself to be a fantastic human being. He may not be your choice of manager but what grounds to have to call him 'a f***ing moron'?
