Oh, and we've never done that?

We have but rarely if we're being honest. Some even scorn those that do.[DOUBLEPOST=1393155500][/DOUBLEPOST]
To be honest I'd swap what German football is for what ours is now in an instant, everything is better there.

Agreed. But if these threads are to go by many just wouldn't be able to cope. Here are the Dortmund fans at Wembley, standing and singing surprisingly:

Sounds like a person who has only watched German football from afar, and ate up all the media love-in.

There are good and bad things about German football. Having a pint in the stands is great and the atmosphere at the games is more carnival, in an odd way like a Euro version of American Baseball, theres lots of talking, hand shaking and friendly exchanges between the supporters of both teams and whilst this makes them seem more civil and adult it ultimately reduces the real emotion and heat of the matches.

They revered all things hooligan/ultra and really believe they are a modern incarnation of the 80s hooligan, yet there is no violence and everything is orchestrated, walking through the streets wearing ski masks etc yet not a single punch is thrown, it's odd.

Im not just on about the safe standing but just the whole match day experience where football fans aren't treated as second class citizens. Things like beer in the stands, free travel with match tickets, cheaper match tickets, etc. Everything there is spot on.

I wasn't on about safe standing, I was on about their general mentality.

If we had a section like that at the back of the south stand near me, I would swap my seat ASAP. Bunch of goons, bouncing about just making random noises. Boro trying to copy off them and it was a bit embarrassing for them imo.
It's standard fare in the lower leagues. I get to plenty of 2nd Div games, and they're all at it. It's the only way those small crowds can generate any noise. Palace, Swansea, and Soton have all hung on to their lower league methods of supporting. I suppose you could argue that it's served them well, but I reckon it's naff.

Me too but the majority on here are already moaning about the possibility of having to stand during the game.

It's a strange one though, what did they do at Old Trafford when 9k of us stood all game and sang continuously throughout.

We got lucky at Old Trafford, in the sense that some how we managed to take 9,000 like minded people. It was wall to wall with lads in our section and was like being back on the terrace, more people than seats.

The hundreds of members on here who cry about standing and regulations were obviously left at home.

It'll be a different story at wembley. Not that I'm too bothered. Just have to accept that old Trafford was a one off and cherish the memories.

The good things heavily outweigh the apparent bad things by a long shot.

Like I say, you cant deny they make plenty of noise. How long have they had this organised orchestration now? I certainly cant remember it the last time we were playing them in the second tier.

For pundits like Savage to come out and say they are the best supporters in the league is a nonsense IMO. I actually find their support strange. They seem to sing songs that aren't particularly supportive if you know what I mean. For example, if we were 1-0 up with a few minutes to go, or 1-0 down and needed a goal desperately, we would give a rendition of sing your hearts out for the lads or whatever, they seem to sing Mrs Robinson whilst banging a drum. I dont know what it is but it just all seems too orchestrated and too planned. There seems no spontaneity.

Ive already talked too much about it
Its because they are all smacked off their tits. Closet hippies.

I hate any support that use musical instruments, England included.

The Fulwell " ultras" were using airhorns in the 70s to start chants.....is there any difference to the modern fan using a drum ?

FWIW ithink its quite refrehing that they care enough to do something to what is becoming a sterile atmosphere in most stadia around the uk

If they made the same noise with decent songs, standing singing rather than jumping about like bellends with a f***ing drum ffs, I'd give them more credit.

Stop orchestrating your atmosphere and just make a decent one without being bellends

Like stoke fans just cause they make a bit of noise there the tv companies faves

Yet utter scum if you had the misfortune of been anywhere near them
