The way they were gan on at Rooney was like he was the most hated player from the opposition in a derby. Bit over the top like.

That's support pal.[DOUBLEPOST=1393107745][/DOUBLEPOST]

Chanting is part of the game, if that's a "glee club", what's 90 minutes of silence interrupted only by groans and conversation due to boredom?

Its background noise and a way of supporters keeping themselves entertained. As I previously said, it seems like every song is scheduled in for a certain time slot and regardless of situation that schedule wont be interrupted. There is something special about spontaneity at a match. There is nothing quite like a desperate and quiet murmur from the crowd in a dull match only for it to be turned on its head by a moment of action on the park, whether it be a bit of skill, a quality save, a crunching tackle or a refereeing decision.

At Palace, they are singing Simon and Garfunkel on 65 minutes whether Jedinak is putting in a crunching tackle or Tony Pulis is adjusting his cap.

That's fair enough but you are wrong. They sing all game. There is nothing special about spontaneity if few join in. It only really happens if we score.
Some in the south stand do their best, most can't be arsed. But to have a go at Palace fans for actually vocally supporting their side as well as putting on a show in the ground just comes across bitter and jealous. Palace are not what they once were. They're almost like the St. Pauli of England these days, a toned down version perhaps but their support will continue to get better. They're putting opposition fans to shame on a weekly basis.
