Mainze

Striker
The Akmal brothers and Wahab Riaz also named today.

The only surprise is that it's taken this long for anyone to seriously point the finger at Kamran Akmal. He's either throwing things or he's a combination of the luckiest and worst keeper to have played international cricket.

I was quite surprised they were named though. I assume there is evidence or the accusations are slanderous/defamation of character?

not condoing the cheating but a no-ball in a test match or playing out a maiden rarely makes much difference to the overall result however the following evidence shows they were willing to give world cup glory up as any no-ball, wide or playing out of maidens really affects a 20/20 game/result.
The jury was also read earlier texts sent between Mr Majeed and Mr Butt in May last year in which they allegedly discussed fixing games at the Twenty20 World Cup in the West Indies

Im with Mike Atherton on this issue. He did a piece last year iirc.

Not condoning it it in any way like eddyfin says, but they will not be the only team doing it. They are followers and thickies not trailblazers and masterminds.

I think it is rife throughout the sub continent including Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and India

Does anyone find it odd that Bangladesh have never relly gotten any better despite over 10 years in this environment and some of their batting collapses are so bad they are hard to believe

I cant imagine they are paid particular well by their board and its wouldnt be surprise me if most of them have not been involved in fixing games at some point to earn a bit extra

Come on you can't blame match fixing for Bangladesh being shite. They're shit because they have never had a world class player for other players to base their standards on and no matter how much you money you throw at them if they don't have the ability they won't get any better. The infrastructure in Bangladesh club cricket needs to be sorted before they can ever challenge and more of their players need to be playing at a better club standard.

They will be doing some spot fixing that probably isn't in doubt but whole match fixing is pointless at they're nearly always odds on to get beat.
