Owning Dogs - should be closely regulated

The dog breed most likely to bite you has been revealed

The dog most likely to attack is a labrador according to this list
"Other breeds most commonly associated with attacks are German shepherds, Staffordshire bull terriers and border collies"

Oddy enough, all four are in the top 10 most popular breeds in the UK (labrador was number 1 but has slipped a bit) so basically that's mostly highlighting that the more of a dog breed there are, the more people get bitten by one of the breed:

But if it were to attack a kid in public at least someone could go to help the kid.
Remember that bloke who was killed by a pitbull type (iirc), people stood and watched but noone dared go in the garden to help.
I realise there would have to be a cut off line but certain breeds with a tendency or record for attacks and all dogs of a certain size would seem quite fair (imo)

Dog with most attacks is a Labrador, that cute family favourite. Border and Jack Russels are also very high up the list. If I recall correct it was a Jack Russell that killed a baby last year.

I have two german shepherds and they are soft as clarts. They are huge though so have the potential to easily kill a kid (or an adult) and for that reason I'd never leave my kids alone with them. Anyone who leaves his kids alone with a dog is an eejit, whatever the breed.

We were buying a mutt a couple of years ago and the first couple we went to look at the breeders refused to get it microchipped before selling it, despite it being a legal obligation to do so. Lots of unscrupulous people out there would ignore any licencing laws anyway.

I think us keeping our dogs in the house all day is a reason dog bites have increased. They're not being socialised properly, with humans or other dogs. They're also spoilt little shits.

Our dogs used to piss off all day and only come back when hungry. They knew that if they weren't home by 11pm we'd all be in bed and they'd be spending the night hungry out in the cold. And guess what, the little fuckers made sure they got home on time every night before me mar locked that door! They were treated like adults and they took responsibility. Never did one even so much as growl at a person nvm bite one.

Dogs aren't daft, yet we now treat them like they're babies and that's how they act. Like little spoiled babies.

Your dog smerks tabs. Proper hard case ;)

I own a "bulldog breed" he's an old english bulldog, best dog I have ever had, brilliant around kids, adults and other dogs.

Would I leave him alone with a kid? No I wouldn't, that's me being a responsible owner. No doubt after this tragedy he will be looked on as a dangerous breed

I would've loved to have followed one during the day to see what they got upto.

I think mine just sleep during the day. If I'm working from home and decide to do the hoovering or something, Jack throws himself on the floor with a big sigh because he's been disturbed
