No...your dead wrong their. I've watched it a good few times now and Cattermole was switched off expecting the ball to be lumped forward....the very thing Gus was not doing over the past games since he took over.. Cattermole was asleep...

he does point for it to be lumped but hes already there, bit of both probably but catts had plenty time to deal with it could of took a touch and passed to the keeper but it was a slip in concentration happens to everyone.

Cattermoles fault but Roberge is utterly hopeless anyway. Up there with the worst since our latest return to top flight football. He offers nowt to the central defensive position. Looks weak, physically unimposing and just overall all round below average at everything he does.

The trouble is Poyet has started a revolution in playing style half way through a season with someone else's players.
Not exactly a revolution unless they're heading it around the pitch. All these new players landed and have to get on with it,what "revolution" had they come from. How long did it take Everton to change?2 games?

What a plank eh? Expecting professional footballers to pass and receive the ball within ten yards of their teammate. It's not like he's asking them to run on their hands while doing it. It's simply a case of trust your technique and don't panic while asking your mates to help out by actually moving into space.

We've actually been very good at it in the middle third and even at the back at times. Where it breaks down is players rushing shots in daft positions or not moving into clever spaces to receive the ball in the final third. No the wonder Poyet sounds sick - you'd think he was asking these elite footballers to perform brain surgery!

Agreed, and we played the ball out in a much more dangerous position in the first half (I forget if it was before or after the incident) and Cattermole was part of that which successfully maneuvered the ball out of the box on the left hand side of the box to our right hand side.

I don't necessarily think the issue was the mistake itself it was more his reaction which was dissapointing. He just couldn't get back in to the game from that point and actually tried ok much. It was interesting when lost possession shortly afterwards and manone went over to have a word with him and support him and Cattermole just told him where to go. Just think Cattermole knew he was having one of those games from there and his head had dropped. He's had two very poor games but I still wouldn't take him out the team completely. I'd still play one of him or colback in the defensive midfield role, certainly play him against man utd.
