the fact he donated the testimonial casht occhairty says a lot about his qualities as a hman being-but nothing about his ability as a footballer..

True, however he's the captain thus assumes additional responsibilities of marshalling the team on the pitch and dressing room, people obviously follow him. He's an articulated grounded individual, saw him score some vital championship winning goals this season and previous Vs man utd I think
 
Will probably get shot down for this but Petr Cech was sometimes carried by an excellent defence. You watch the Premier League Years programmes and the amount of saveable shots he lets in are laughable.

I can understand people saying Messi is better than Ronaldo, but to say he’s nowhere near Messi’s standard is a ridiculous thing to say.
