Our undisclosed transfer fees

Getting tired of this. If you don't 100% support EVERYTHING the club does or says you are
1/ Not a true supporter
2/Mag or
3/ Why don't you fuck off and support someone else?
These people (we all know who they are) believe that because they never challenge anything, they are better supporters than the rest of us. Pathetic
There’s a massive difference between people who “don't 100% support EVERYTHING the club does or says” and signing up for the message boards on Monday, then making 141 posts (and counting) with every single one of them being a moan about the club like MoaningMurton!

Aye its canny tiring see a poster have nowt but negative things to say about the club like.

If a supporter doesn't support everything, fair enough. But when a supporter doesn't support ANYTHING, then it's a different ball game.

It's as bad supporting everything the club says or does as it is being negative all the time. You've got to let people have an opinion without being told you're a mag etc.
Me and my pals go to every game and 100% support the TEAM for 90 odd minutes.
I am not necessarily a supporter of the chairman, chief executive or board of directors and have got no affiliation with any of the fuckers. They will be gone soon enough.
If we sold Ross Stewart for 2 quid you'd have the usual club apologists finding a way to support it telling us it would be a good thing for the club long term. These people are as bad if not worse than people who moan all the time

Exactly. We got pritchard roberts stewart cirkin etc for peanuts. Exactly what you want your club to do to succeed. This sort of recruitment is what propells the club up the leagues.
Totally agree. Why should we pay big fees if we can get value for money and if we do pay a bit more why advertise the fact ? When fees are undisclosed it’s cos one side of the deal doesn’t want to lose face (eg spurs taking a hit on Clarke) and put it in the public domain. Alternatively we could be paying over the odds for a young inexperienced player like Alese. Either way I couldn’t give a toss as long as the player is good for SAFC.

Course he's going to say that so no club takes us for mugs!

He also said he gets full control and final say on transfers with us back in July. So his reasoning for leaving us is bullshit.

We already knew that our head coach doesn't get full control of transfers. We still know that this is blatantly not true.
If it were true, which head coach signed Matete and Defoe, sold Flanagan and Hume, and tried to force out Gooch on deadline day in January?

So why was Alex Neil publicly saying he gets final say on whether players come to the football club under his tenure?

Because whilst he was Sunderland manager, it made no sense whatsoever for him to publicly, expressly, slag off his boss(es).

Now that he's not employed by the Club, he's free to tell the truth. A truth we already knew to be honest - based on what happened before our eyes, on transfer deadline day in January.

Speakman has always said no player will be signed without the managers say so. Obviously Speakman and Harvey identity the players but ultimately the manager has some say in the matter.

Sounds like your truth marra as it suits your agenda and you are unwilling to see any other point of view. This is a forum for discussion and everyone is entitled to an opinion but I’ve not hear say a single positive thing yet.
That's why a head coach is a head coach and not a manager. It's not unique to Sunderland.
Which will have been made perfectly clear before he signed. I dunno what people find hard to understand about the concept.

It's not "my truth" at all.

Unless someone wants to tell me which head coach bought/had the final say on buying Defoe and Matete on deadline day, whilst also selling Flanagan and Hume, and trying until about 10.30pm to force Gooch out the door?

There was no head coach in place to have final say on those deals.

That's part of the point in having a DoF model. The club isn't paralysed when there's no head coach in position.

I was as critical as anyone with the club not bringing in another defender and taking so long to appoint Neil. Turns out we got promoted and the squad was fine.

The squad was fine because Ross Stewart miraculously managed to stay fit to start all 49 games of a league season. Had he not done so, we'd still be in League One, and we'd be paying much more attention to the ludicrous decisions made at various points in time.

And to confirm - I'm glad we both no accept/agree, that it's demonstrably false to say that out "head coach" has the final say on transfers. I hope we all remember that, if and when things go wrong, and we are looking for the person to blame for it.

Neither obviously cos we never had a head coach in place at that point. As time went on towards the window closing presumably the D of F takes control of the situation At times like that. By having a a D of F in place in situations like that it makes for a fluid running of the club so nowt grinds to a halt and hampers transfer activity.
