Ive seen it first hand mate, i use to sit with a few younger lads i knew, im a big fat massive **** and admit i get caught right up in the match and swear like fuck i cant help it tbh, these younger lads did the same thing two seats away from me and a steward pulled them out, i felt a bit protective tbh as i know them so went with him down the tunnel in the swc, he was met with three stewards and then one of them called a copper over almost begging the copper to toss the kid out. I went over and said everyone in that row was swearing and to toss him out would be unfair the copper tbf to him was almost embarrassed i said id make sure he didnt do it again and would they let him back in his seat the copper agreed and we went back.

They single weaker ones out and pick them out, ive seen it many a time, i did away days every week for a few years and never seen anything like what gans on at the sol like, every steward ive had contact when away have been happy to chat nee hassel unless shit gets out of hand.

There seems to be a zealousness about the stewarding at the SOL in
recent seasons. It's as though they're constantly on the lookout for people to eject.
I hate the way after a goal to us they all move en masse to some area seemingly itching to get involved in
something.
The club really need to a grip of this.

Is it because they cant see it or because they dont want to see it? Stewards need to be reminded that the fans are the only ones involved with the club that actually pay to go to the match - every other fecker gets paid for the privilege! My previous dealings with Byrne suggest that she is risk averse and I suspect that any potential, no matter how small, for breach of H & S legislation is going to weigh more heavily than customer satisfaction. Other clubs seem to get the right balance with most being seen to do the right thing even if in practice 'a light touch' is adopted. SAFC really needs to understand and appreciate that the club is really all about the supporters, without them is there any purpose?

there's a pattern, both with stewards and the ticket office ( and on the pitch to be honest)

employees follow rules to the letter, there is no room for negotiation or common sense in any situation. A good manager manages these situations a bad manager will hide behind a set of rules. It's the same in any business and generally the more hook they have in the customer the less well they take care of that customer.

most businesses would kill for the blind loyalty SAFC fans show, sky high prices and fuck all in return for more than 40 years, football has moved on from the fences of the 80s but the stewarding and customer service manual doesn't appear to have, it still feels like it's our privilege to attend.

IMHO SAFC simply don't employ good enough people, if the employees were as dedicated as the fans we'd be top of the league

*I have never had a problem with a steward nor the ticket office and most of the problems are small but small things can be very big things to different people and you have to think on your feet at how to best handle it

Being abusive to stewards is going to get you a ban regardless of circumstance. I've never been as much as approached by a steward in 12 years and I swear/sing/drink bullshot. When I was in the corner I even stood without being approached. Maybe I just don't go too far and make my removal necessary. The neanderthals are just a very vocal minority, the vast majority in the ground will never have had issue with bans and the like. Even if all of the neanderthals were perma banned there would still be plenty of fans left. Against modern football but also against cavemen in stadia.

So are we going to be told the full story or not?

My guess is that the full story would make the ban totally reasonable & that's why we're not getting it.

I cant really take Doberman seriously anymore.

I was sat behind him on a east coast train one Saturday morning when he was off to see his beloved team, Rangers, play the mighty Stirling (horrendous 0 0 draw for anyone interested).

He kept tweeting how he was "on it" on the way to "bounce with the bears".

Yet he was sat there with his dad, drinking mixed fruit Kopparberg.

Never really looked at his posts the same way after that.

You either dont look weak enough or are hidden by the crowd mate, trust me they pick out weak looking ones. Ive seen people booted out for doing exactly what you said you do. Its far from being cavemen, that the thing with our fans so willing to toss there fellow fan under the bus, nah it cant be stewards being over zealous even though we see these f***ing threads almost weekly the sol must be packed with cavemen.

No-one begrudges the odd swear word, however there seems like a large contingency of so-called fans seem more interested in drinking as much as possible prior, during and after the game together with spouting simply pure filth and scummy language, while we have kids, women and decent, law-abiding folk frequenting the games and club.
Sat next to bloke last week who couldn't get a sentence out without dropping in at least one "F" word...much to the disgust of the 20 or so around him who perpetually asked him to keep it civil and evntually complained to the stewards about him.

the women and kids are the worst round where we are - follk will be complaining about players and managers swearing next

anyone that has that dire need to hurl abuse and profanity obviously should be removed as they must be underage and unsupervised by an adult. Anyone that feels swearing at the match has any influence on how good a match is, is a moron.

I imagine most people swear at the match and stand up but (and this bit is important) at the appropriate time. I occasionally sit with my son in the family stand and don't swear. too many people like Lauder who seem to think cos they want to watch the match in one way then the rest of us have to do it the same way. Swear and abuse a member of SAFC's staff then don't be surprised when SAFC say We don't want you to come back
