O'Shea has a pop at the board

How people on this thread can criticise O'Shea is astounding.

He's been mostly solid for the last 4 years (Although has been prone to a mistake or two at times), one of the stand out players in the last 2 seasons and contributed massively to our survival.

For 3 million pounds, he's been a cracking buy in hindsight.
Spot on yet the usual cliche monkeys on here are calling a snake and a charlatan.

Can they not do both. Have an opinion and play football?
I'm only interested in the latter as a paying customer. It keeps things nice and simple. I have nothing against the guy, I actually like him, but we need to be careful, here. If he thinks things are that bad, surely he should just look to move?

He's right, though.

Are you sure? I haven't seen Ellis kick one ball yet...If O'Shea and the rest of the crew can't beat the bottom four sides, what other option does Ellis have but to get rid of players and or managers? The problem I have is, as captain, not once in that article does O'Shea take any responsibility or say "as a team we need to play better"... he makes an excuse and blames the board, not good for a captain, imo!

Or he wants things to change?

Ok..the right way to do it, is for him to confront the board rather than go public, and tell them what's wrong. This position presupposes that he deems the players to be blameless. It would be an intriguing conversation.

His comments were more of an excuse than that of someone making a mission statement.
Do you disagree with his comments?

Must admit I'm a bit two faced as I hate airing out dirty laundry in public. Just agree with what he's saying.

Whether WE agree with what he is saying is entirely a different question!
I hope people on here aren't naive enough to believe the board will start spending money on players, because JOS is weighing in with comments!

and there you go, the usual jibes. Even more cliché, if you ask me.

He is whingeing about managers being sacked yet is on record saying he had a hand in one and Di Canio is on record calling him a snide towards another and his fellow players

I think people are reading to much into what he is saying anyway. I'm pretty sure he knows performances should have been better

Yes...the failure to beat any of the bottom sides is strictly down to the players, unless they think QPR, etc. have the better sides.

O'Shea is talking out of his ass...he has every right to make a mission statement and give his opinion on the future of the club... but he was just as much part of the struggle as the board and he should've said so.

So we don't sign to many players summer after summer?

It's pretty clear we do.

O'Sheas got more front that George Graham in Brighton Sainsburys. Hes been shite for probably 70% of his time here.

Mesel Id say theres not one single SAFC employee in the public eye who can point the finger without the risk of 40,000 fans pointing at them in return (Dick and his marras apart). The players are a bunch of lazy spoilt children. The managers/head coaches a bunch of charlatans. The academy a bunch of unproductive underachieving bluffers. The board are just plain lucky to be there and luckier to still be in the PL.

If next season plays out any differently to the previous few is there anyone on here who wont be astounded?

Yes we do and I'm sure that's the last thing the board wants to do every summer. I also think if the players didn't underachieve as much, there would be less turnover.

If we bought better players there wouldn't be the need for an overhaul every summer. Our squad is piss poor.

Frightening to think of the money we've wasted
