O'Shea has a pop at the board

Di Canio was a symptom of the disease - his status as a high-profile player masked the fact that we'd hired a coach who was sacked by f***ing Swindon. Pay peanuts, get monkeys.

But, he was hired to manage the team and was undermined by players who should have had no access to the bleedin' CEO otherwise, why have a manager in the first place?

I agree, Di Canio wasn't right for us but for O'Shea to come out and say we shouldn't keep sacking managers when he got one the bullet and was a complete hypocrite regarding O'Neill "we ran through brick walls" it's poor form

That's oshea gone then

If the rumours of that exchange are true, Di Canio undermined himself. His behaviour was grossly unprofessional, I don't think O'Shea was out of order for escalating the matter.

I don't think we had an issue with player effort under O'Neill either. We just had shite players, and we still do.

Can you give me an example PDC being 'grossly unprofessional'? Cheers.

Well in John, stick the knife into them.

The board have made countless mistakes, signed a load of rubbish including stop gap players and squad fillers, and not invested adequately to bring genuine quality players to the club. Although the players must also accept responsibility, the fact is they aren't good enough to compete at this level, which is due to a lack of quality within the team. There has been a total lack of ambition, from top to bottom, over the last 3-4 seasons now.

I hope this summer will be different, now Dick is here permanently.

As with all organisations the buck stops with the Board and particularily the Head Honcho.

Absolutely an unarguable fact.

How people on this thread can criticise O'Shea is astounding.

He's been mostly solid for the last 4 years (Although has been prone to a mistake or two at times), one of the stand out players in the last 2 seasons and contributed massively to our survival.

For 3 million pounds, he's been a cracking buy in hindsight.

Im sure that article slipped past oshea....perhaps he was ball watching....or to slow...or on the bog having an oshea

He should be given the freedom of the city for getting shot of Di Canio.

Why? Is he not allowed an opinion?

Of course he is, however pot calling kettle black comes to mind. I am sure if you look at the number of mistakes made by the board during O'Shea's tenure, and the number of mistakes made by O'Shea you'd find the Irishman way ahead on the count.

Show me a footballer who doesn't make mistakes!

I never said there was one, but you would think that such an error prone defender would look at himself before going off at the mouth on the mistakes of others. Especially the club captain!
