Ordering a New Bike, usually get a Boardman but scheme doesn't do Halfords

Mate of mine has a Boardman frame. Think he has an Ultegra group set.
Does it have to be Boardman? My frame is a Fuji and does the job.
I can't get a Boardman as only Halfords and Cycle Surgery sell them and they are not on my work scheme, so looking at the Pinnacle Neon 5 on Evans at the moment, but have no experience of them

I've got a pinnacle neon. Hasn't let me down so far (about 500 miles)

Evans were a bit shit either the ordering/delivery
I hate Evans but they have the best selection on my list of suppliers

the other alternative is building a bike at a more specialist shop

My delivery was delayed by about 2 weeks.
Had to chase them up to get any Information. I would definitely buy Instore as their online customer service is non existent

Got 20% off in the end.

So you can use a Local Bike Shop (LBS)?

If so, try and find a recommended one in your area and use them.

A decent one will be well worth it for the advice they give you and will also be the go to place for any future repairs/servicing you want doing.

Might cost you a little bit more than Sports Direct/Evans but it will be worth every penny.

you know what Roger, looking at dealing with Evans was making me sad already so I decided to call my local shop, whom I use for servicing and are super good and asked them to price up a custom build, I was a bit nervous about it and just gave them my specs such as they are and told them my height, flat bars, disc brakes, don't mind the one gear on the front but loads on the back, not too narrow wheels, basically a city bike but able to navigate muddy rides through the park

I've already ordered the saddle and skewer set etc lights, horn, phone mount but left the pannier rack and mud guards to them to sort out for what would fit best

told them they know more about availability and what is best so I'd leave that to them

eeeee excited

Definitely this. Support your local experts. In Sunderland I’d recommend Cycleworld Sunderland . Family Bike Shop. Established over 40 years.

I’ve a giant tcr advanced 1 going for £1,300 if any good. Less than a 100 miles and only just a year old.
