At the top of the reply pane click on the right hand of three rows of vertical dots.

You should get a drop down menu showing a pair of square brackets which I suspect will be in red as per image below.

Click on said brackets and they should go black and job will be a good'un.

Cheers. Came across that before. For some reasons this time all the dots were also greyed out. Seems to be okay again now.

I have an android phone which has been all over the shop on this site and a few others since I did a big software update a couple of weeks ago.

Settings and preferences seem to be changing at will.
