Opposition chit chat (Coventry)

Coventry best described as all fart and nee shite. Kept the ball well and pressed well but created virtually nothing other than the goal, their other clear chances came from slack passes from our defence. By contrast we created four clear cut opportunities despite seeing less of the ball.

If they could create more and finish better they could be promotion contenders - you don’t get promoted by passing around in your own half for most of the game though. Lot of the Cov fans saying they were the better team for most games last year but means nothing without turning possession into goals.

Personally I think that coventry are a nothing club with nothing fans. They've never rated with anyone in England yet go on as though they are Real Madrid. As always on social media the jealousy over our attendances is ridiculous - we are seemingly a "library" - and yet it would take them 3 home games to pull in 40000 and Sky waxed lyrical about the atmosphere, so go figure.

There is one worrying sign from today that points to more players of quality needed - they will be top 10 and yet we could only draw with them. We cant be drawing every home game against the top 10 or we will be in trouble.

But its 16 competitive games unbeaten, stretching back 120 plus days, and its our first game back at this level.

We played well in the first half, they were the better team in the second and having predicted 1 v 1 before the game, I can hardly act surprised that that's how it turned out.

So much for them battering us and sending us home with our ‘tales’ between our legs

Fair play their goal was a belter but they hardly pulled up any trees. Bang average at best.

And we still could only draw at home to them. Either we were better or people think they weren’t as good as they were. It shows how huge the gap in the physical standard between the Championship and League One. And how far we need to go to match what’s needed to get through an average Championship season.

All I seen was the flare, can’t comment on the other stuff.

Won’t be too much longer into the future where away fans will be back downstairs.

For an “established promotion pushing team” to draw with a newly promoted team shoes we more than held our own for me. Tbf, they are six points off the play offs last year and first half we were brilliant. We have nothing to be ashamed of.

Maybe but we are going to have to become so much more faster, fitter, quicker, agile, leaner, more aggressive (in our counter attack) and tighter defensively.

Saw the smoke bomb which then ended up on their keeper’s towel (what was he complaining about by the way? Clearly from his own fans )

Did see another object which looked like an empty bottle but couldn’t see if it was glass or plastic.

I was sitting just behind the goal underneath them and seen the flare hit a woman and a bloke holding a smashed bottle (held together by the sticker).

The fact that it was expected is an absolute disgrace, tbh.

I didn't think it was the best atmosphere today. All felt a bit nervy.

It wasn't if we're honest. Canny at the start, good for a bit after the goal and in small parts of the second half.

Certainly nothing special, given what sort of racket we can create. Don’t think 12 noon kick offs help.

The display was terrific mind

Cov fans were pretty loud; again - nothing amazing but above average for noise (and top of the league for missile throwing/bellendery)
