O hare is put ain't he, with a bad hamstring tear? When we were promoted a couple of seasons ago it was difficult for us for the first half of the season. We were not ready for the pace that championship games can be played at. Also there are some very good players at the level. We only pulled away from the bottom towards the end of the season and finished 16th.
Last season we were in or around the playoffs until the end of the season when injuries caught up with us. We were good enough to do the double over Fulham who easily beat most sides. IIRC they had a GD of about 68 and we beat them 4-1 and 1-3.
The one advantage you have is keeping most of your side together. They know how each other play. But if they don't get up to speed quickly it will be a difficult start to the season. What we hope is you play attacking football against us especially as there will be a massive crowd. That would suit us perfectly. We attack on the break very quickly and have two good strikers. Gyo is very strong and goes past defenders and Godden has a cracking shot on him. Hamer will take the set pieces and O'Hare will terrorise you from the start to the 96th minute. Fittest player I have ever seen. If he could score more goals he would be in a decent Prem side.
So yes we have several reasons why many of us are confident of a win. But last season we controlled a lot of games and struggled to score and our opponents scored with their only shot on target. We even lost a game where the other side didn't even have a shot on target (OG)
