Matete gives the ball away far too much, also frequently gets caught in possession .The key here will be the CM battle. I have no idea who Neil should put in alongside Evans tomorrow. I'm leaning towards Matete just for a bit physicality. I think he will hassle and get stuck in.
Exactly. Unbeaten since you moved backCHill everyone. Easy 3 points for the lads. I am more worried about 8,000 of their ticketless supporters turning up and wrecking the town.
Keeping it going as long as I can.Exactly. Unbeaten since you moved back
I heard it was 1978 Brazil turning up?I thought we were playing Coventry tomorrow, reading that it appears we are playing Barcelona in their prime
Nobody is saying that at all. Just realistically pointing out that they are a good side and it will be a tough game.I thought we were playing Coventry tomorrow, reading that it appears we are playing Barcelona in their prime

Match Thread - ⚽️ Sunderland vs Coventry City Match Thread - Sunday 31st Jul
Opening day of the season !!!!!! We've had a fantastic pre season , winning every match , Beating Premier league Nottingham Forest 3-1 and league 1 Oxford and Portsmouth 2-0 along the way .. Sunderland are back in the championship after a few years out and have suffered back to back pre season...www.skybluestalk.co.uk
General thoughts seem to be a comfortable away win. Made tougher, owing to our following, but they consider their settled, experienced team will see them past us.
I reckon 2-2
We're unbeaten in 16 or 17 games or something and ended the season clearly the best team in the league.A lot of them are pointing to the fact we finished fifth to reason why it will be a shoein for them. Only one poster pointed out we were top of the form table since Neil took over.
I heard it was the earlier World Cup winner sI heard it was 1978 Brazil turning up?
Or the majority of the first months games as wellI'd hazard a guess very few of their fans have watched us recently and vice versa. Noboday has a clue how it it is gonna pan out first game of the season.
IndeedOr the majority of the first months games as well
I think they’re a good team, in all sincerity. A little inconsistent which saw them drop off last season. They’ll be amongst the little group looking to get the last play off place alongside the likes of QPR, Millwall, Luton etc.I have no idea how good Coventry are to be honest. Did they over achieve last season? Or will they keep on improving?
